Today at the hospital, it has been a lot slower than usual. Not that you're complaining, but you feel like if you were to go home, then it wouldn't matter at all. Meredith, Alex and then would have it under control.

Maybe something big is going to happen, that's why you have time between patients to just sit around and relax, a thing that hardly happens. On days like this, patients seem to be failing instead of thriving.

Again, not complaining, you just noticed the pace in which things were going. And you're pretty sure you're not the only one at the moment.

As you move your hair out of your face to see better—and not be as irritated—Jackson turns the corner. He seems to be searching for something, until his eyes land on you, and a smile spreads over his face.

You smile back half-heartedly, not really in the mood for what he has to say today. Because the last couple of days, he's been flirting with you mercilessly and it's getting on your nerves.

You've promised yourself that you won't do anything drastic, but if it comes down to it, then you will show him how you feel, and it won't be very pretty. Wouldn't be the first time you had to show a guy that you weren't here to be messed with. And it most certainly won't be the last.

"(Y/n)," Jackson greets, stopping in front of you, "Slow day, huh?"

Resisting the urge to walk away, you nod slowly, waiting for it to start. Jackson is nice and all, but you're sure he doesn't like you as much as he's been showing you. If anything, you think it's the opposite.

It's insulting to say the least, Jackson knows very well that he's attractive. He's gotten other pretty girls in the hospital too, like April for example, and Maggie. So, the thought of him with you? You didn't even consider it.

Along with the thought of the potential of him liking you, never crossed your mind either. It had better things to worry about, much more important and logical. Not that thinking a guy likes you isn't logical to most people, but your brain absolutely refuses to let you think of anything like that.

"Yeah," you say politely, even throwing in a smile to act friendly. You don't necessarily want to be rude, you just want him to go away because of how often he's been annoying you lately, "What are you up to?"

He looks down at the tablet in his arms for a moment, reading the screen as if he didn't know, "Nothing, actually, want to go to the attending room?"

Your eyes slowly drag around Jackson, and past him, hoping to find Meredith or Alex to help get you out of this, but there is no one. And you're left to saying yes and going to the room with him. Even then, you're crossing your fingers someone is in there, so he doesn't have a chance.

Scrolling through the tablet, you're showing Jackson who you've had to deal with today, compared to him. Apparently, he's been getting some pretty interesting patients, then again, he is in plastics. And most of the time, the things they want aren't always do-able.

"Why do you always smell so good?" Jackson asks, your face starts to heat up a little since the question was out of the blue.

But you knew it was going to happen the second you got in here, an hour ago, and there wasn't anyone else in here. Or any that had taken it upon themselves to join you two as you'd wished.

"Jackson," You warn, before going back to the tablet.

"What? You're so beautiful words can't even do you justice,"

You roll your eyes, knowing full well that he can't see that, even if you wanted him to. When you turn to glare him down, it looks like his face softens up a lot more.

His eyes connect with yours, "God, your eyes are so gorgeous,"

"Knock it off, you hear me?" You ask, annoyed.

"What? Sorry—I didn't hear you. I was too busy getting lost in your eyes..." He trails off and the back of your hand slaps against his arm painfully, "Ow! What?!"

"I said stop it," You huff, going back to what you were doing before, but now you're not showing him, it's more like you going through the patients to check and see if you can make up an excuse.

Knowing him, he'll probably offer to go with you, and you won't be able to escape him anyway. But at least if you walk quickly, it'll give your cheeks time to lose the rosy color.

"Why are you embarrassed?" He says, staring at you before adding, "You're beautiful, don't you see that?"

"Because I feel like you're mocking me at this point," you snap, looking up at him, "Ever since Monday it's like you can't leave me the hell alone—do you even like me?"

His mouth drops open slightly, then it shuts, "I—yeah. I just..."

"It's kind of insulting after a while, you're not getting to the point and I feel like you're just making fun of me," you roll your eyes, but the heat in your face never changes.

"I mean every word," he puts his arm around the back of the couch, "No jokes,"

It's quiet between you two, as you try and decipher the words, waiting for there to be a secret meaning behind them. But his facial expression doesn't change, and it's still as hard as it was when you first expressed how you felt.

"You really think I'm beautiful?"

"Well duh," Jackson laughs, a smile spreading over his face, "I wanted to ask you out on a date, but I wasn't sure how you'd react,"

"So,  you resorted to merciless flirting?" You deadpan, he nods, laughing again.

"It didn't work, but I'm hoping you'll go with me to dinner anyway?"

It takes a moment, but you say yes, agreeing to take the date.
