Running a hand through your hair, you look around at your surroundings. Taking in the nice greenery, and cloudy skies that are just too familiar.

You'd moved to somewhere not as green, Arizona. Which is covered in mountains and deserts as far as the eye can see. Cacti, coyotes, and rabbits weren't an uncommon sight while you were there.

The weather was hot, and not really your forte. But it was better than staying in Washington with Jackson. Plus, you made plenty of friends while you were down there.

And you were sad, of course, that you had to leave them behind, but homesickness had taken its toll and that's when you decided it'd be best if you didn't stay much longer, prompting you to come back.

Now, looking at what's around you, you're glad you decided to come back.

You didn't want to stray too long from your job, so you are going to go back to work today. Just to surprise everyone pleasantly, and let them know that it isn't temporary.

Although it could still look like you're visiting, you might just have throw a welcoming party for yourself. Just to catch up with everyone after a year of being away.

Turning around in your apartment, the boxes, and occasional furniture that couldn't be packed meets your eyes.

How the hell are you supposed to throw a party with this mess, anyway?

Checking your watch, you see that you have an hour or two before you officially have to go in. Which should be enough time to set up the living room and kitchen at least. Everything else can be thrown into your bedroom.

A smirk covers your face, as you gather your hair into a ponytail.

Hopefully, two hours is enough time.

The doors open automatically when you approach them. And the second you're inside the building, they slide shut soundlessly behind you.

"Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital," you breathe in a murmur, "Oh, has it been a while since I've seen you."

The clattering of heels pulls you out of your small daydream, your eyes drag across the room, and they stop on Miranda.

She slows down considerably when she knows that you see her. Her arms open wide for a hug, that you didn't know was coming.

You go in for it anyway, because unlike a lot of other people, you're one to give hugs. And since your mentor, she was kinda a hard-ass, wants one, you might as well give her one.

The second her arms are around your body, she squeezes you tightly, a couple of pats on the back following shortly afterward. Then, she pulls back to get a good look at you, despite the fact a couple of seconds earlier, she saw you.

She quite possibly might think you're a mirage. Even though it's been a year, a hell of a lot can happen. Especially, in this hospital and all the shit that's happened already.

"Was the flight over okay? Didn't change your mind?" She asks, an eyebrow raised.

"Like a flight can change my mind," You scoff, shaking your head and starting towards the elevators.
