CHAPTER 4: The Monster In Me

BOULDER

I took a walk out into the woods to clear my head and get away from my brother and negativity in the house as I do almost every night anyways, when I hear some rustling in the distance. Than I got the big scent of my mate-I mean, Ruby one of our servants. 

What was she doing out here so late, I thought to myself knowing just how dangerous it was for a human to be in these woods, especially alone. 

"Follow her." My wolf tells me. 

"Quiet." I reply.

I see her in the near distance, just walking as though she isn't afraid or anything. I wonder what she's up to, so I follow her. 

When I see where she was going, I stopped right at the line and watched what she did next. As soon as I saw some guy hugging and hitting on her, I growled a little bit and wanted to lunge towards him and tear him limb from limb, but I restrained myself. 

It was hours until I finally noticed her coming out of the tavern, a little tipsy it looked like, with her friend. She didn't look too drunk cause she wasn't stumbling but you could sill tell she was a little tipsy. 

After she said 'goodbye' to them she began walking through the woods while humming something that sounded very beautiful.

I didn't want her to know I was following her so I quietly kept my distance so she couldn't see me and followed her back towards the castle. 

However, halfway there, a werewolf jumped out of nowhere in front of her and as I looked closer, I had noticed it was Danny, one of Lecters' bitch of a Delta. I tried to mind-link him to tell him to fuck off but for some reason I wasn't able to, which I thought was odd, then the next thing I see is him start to run after her, chasing her down through the woods and right away gets on all-fours to go faster until another werewolf cuts her off and right away, I know who it is.....Lecter. Who I see swiftly claws at her top, ripping it a little bit, then knocking her down and right as Danny and Lecter begin circling around her, Lecter gets ready to pounce on top of her as she tries backing up on her hands and feet a little bit then stops and horrified, puts her arms over her face, try and protect herself but before he gets the chance to, I leap out of the woods growling loudly while knocking him down hard to the ground. 

"ENOUGH!" I growl while mind-linking him. 

"Fuck off, brother! She left the grounds without permission! She needs to be punished!" He yells back at me. 

"Then I will punish her! You and your little bitch of a Delta are to head back home and never let me catch you doing this again!" I warn them both. 

They scoff before leaving finally and once they're out of sight, I can hear small cute hiccups coming from her. 

So I begin to slowly walk up towards her as she begins to stand and once she notices I'm coming towards her, she covers her chest more and then starts backing up slowly before she trips and falls back, hitting her head on something hard, knocking her out. 

'Great!' I tell myself before walking over and picking her up then carrying her bridal style back towards the house, which thankfully, I notice that both my brother and his pack aren't there, so I carry her to her bedroom and lay her down. 

I can't help but look at her and how beautiful she looks. 

I go reaching out to move her hair from her eyes and stop after looking at my hands and noticing I'm still in my werewolf form. In my, monster form. 

I hear the doorknob begin to turn and quickly retreat back into the woods by jumping out the window. 

As I look back briefly, I see Kathleen coming in to take care of her and before closing the curtains and window she see's me and smiles. 

I've always liked Kathleen. She's always been like a mother to me since I lost mine when I was younger. 

I'm glad that Ruby didn't wake up and see me like this. She has been traumatized enough already and after seeing the terrified look on her face, I couldn't let that be because of me. 

"Let her rest." My wolf tells me. 

I then go running back through the woods to release some anger I have now due to my brother and we WILL be having a talk about tomorrow.
