CHAPTER 18: Marked.....

Ruby and I had decided on me marking her tonight after a romantic dinner together.

I still can't believe I have found my mate and to be honest am feeling more nervous than anything. Almost as nervous as if this was my first time having sex.

Turning someone is a huge deal in our world. Not just because of what it means and represents but also what it does to the person we mark or as some call it, imprinting.

I can't believe that she is giving up being a human for me.

I was a little afraid in the beginning after finding my mate was a human. Not so much that it was disgusting or that I was trying to protect her from ridicule and other things. I mean, don't get me wrong, I want to protect her from what I can and don't want her getting hurt over me but mostly I was concerned because sometimes the turned ones are weaker but I know that she'll do great. IF it works that is. It's very rare that the switch is accepted by the human body.

I swear, I'm the luckiest Alpha in the world with an amazing mate who I know will be bad ass in becoming a wolf.

While I'm getting ready, I see through the mirror my door swing opened and stomping her way towards me was Kathleen who then turns me around to face her and slaps me really hard.

"You little shit! When the hell were you planning on telling us what your brother did?!" She exclaims.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"I swear on your parents grave if you don't tell me this instant why you kept from us including your mate, what 'message' your brother left for you, I will have no choice but to lock you in the basement and treat you like a criminal." She threatens.

I take in a deep breath and let it out before telling her but before I even start, I see Mike and Ruby standing in the doorway with a pained look on her face.

"The other day, Jai woke me up in the middle of the night and told me that my brother left a message for me. So I went and saw one of my newest members, dismembered with parts of their body tossed all over the field." I choke out the last part while trying hard not to cry. Because the Omega he killed was like a younger brother to me and not to mention, seventeen. He was just a damn kid for crying out loud.

I start to put my hand over my eyes while I began to cry, not caring anymore if it made me look weak or less of a man, I just couldn't hold it in anymore.

Then the next thing I felt were two soft hands and the amazing calming feeling that I knew only one person could do....Ruby.

"Can you guys give us a minute?" I hear Ruby say.

Then the next thing I hear is the door closing and take my hand down and look at her.

"I'm so sorry that that happened. Though now that I'm going to have you mark me and train me, we'll be able to get him, together." She smiles.

"Yeah." I smile.

"I love you." I hear her say and just to make sure, I ask her to say it again.

"What was that?" I asked.

"I said I love you." She repeated.

"I'm sorry, one more time." I ask just to mess with her.

"I said I love you." She chuckles.

I then pick her up by the waist and spin her around as we kiss each other for a moment before I set her down and look deep into her eyes.

"I love you so much more than you'll ever know." I smile at her.

She smiles back at me and then bites her lower lip.

"I'm ready now." She tells me.

"You sure?" I ask.

"Yes. Make me yours." She smiles.

"Always." I smile back at her before kissing her mouth and then kissing her down to her neck.

I pause for a moment and then she grips onto my hair as soon as my sharp canines bite deep into her neck, causing her to gasp from the pain but then like always, quickly subsides which means, her human body didn't reject the accepting of my abilities and her being able to shift. Now I don't have to worry about if her body would reject it or not, clearly, she IS my mate for life I smile after licking up the mark.

Quickly after, she begins getting tired as it can drain you, rather born a wolf or not because this is just part of the mating part and marking. She has a long road a head of her, but she's right, her and me together against my brother, yeah, he doesn't stand a chance.
