CHAPTER 22: I Hope He Understands.....

I'm still feeling a bit sore from the big fight but I know I'll be fully healed soon.

Today, my pack and Ruby all were trying to come up with a plan in trying to get back Lecter.

Although I am beyond impressed at how amazing Ruby did and she has already assured me that she is still doing great, we are having the doctor check her out to be extra cautious. Since it's rare that a human who is turned into a wolf can become weak and is more prone to lose their newfound strength.

"What do you suggest we do Alpha?" Jai asks.

"I never wanted it to come to this but, Lecter won't stop until he is able to take over. However, I made a promise to our parents before they died that I would try and help him get better and that no matter what, to make sure I do what I can to protect him." I begin to tell them all though it's hard to say.

"You aren't suggesting what I think you are." Jai says questioning.

"No. Well, not exactly. What I am suggesting however, is that we make him believe I will hand the title to him." I mention.

"You know he won't believe you." One of my pack members tells me.

"He will." I assure.

"How do you know? What do you have planned?" Jai asks.

"I'm going to rewrite my parents will so that he believes it. Then when he confronts me and asks if it's true, I will tell him I was jealous and thought I was protecting him and convince him that everything I'm telling him is the truth."

"Okay, then what happens of he does believe you?" Jai asks.

"Then we'll take him down. We won't kill him but, we will bring him to the council to decide his fate. We still need to uphold the laws." I remind them.

The room is silent and I'm not sure what Ruby is thinking as she stares at the table and I can't hear her thoughts. Everyone else keeps looking back and forth between me and each other in the room.

"Alright. We're in. When do we start getting prepared?" Jai asks me.

"Today. I will try and rewrite it and then speak to the council to ask for their permission and see if they can be on board with this or not."

He nods his head as everyone else follows and then we all get up and leave while Ruby and I still continue sitting in our seats next to each other.

"I can't believe you did that." I hear her say under her breath.

"Did what?" I asked confused.

"How can you just let him get away with everything him and his guys did to me?" She asks.

"He won't though. Baby, I'm gonna have the head of the council sentence him to confinement in wolf prison for life." I try to explain.

She removes her hand from mine and I start to get a little worried and nervous of what she might say.

"I can't believe this." She says as she abruptly gets up from the chair.

"What's wrong?"

"Seriously? You don't see it?" She asks while fighting back tears.

"See what? You're confusing me." I exclaim.

"Your council is tainted! Nobody will persecute him or sentence him to confinement in wolf prison amd you know that! He has your family's blood in him and as everyone knows, that by wolf's law, you can not do anything like that to a royal's name. My god, am I the only one that knows your own rules?!" She snaps at me.

"Hey, I'm doing the best that I can! And how dare you accuse me of not knowing the laws, of course I do, I HAVE to! But do know this, there are things that you don't understand that is between the council and my family. Now they could make exceptions if I ask them." I proclaim.

"We both know THAT isn't true. And FYI, I'm not a human anymore so please do me a favor and don't talk down to me. And as far as your brother goes, I know you're all related and shit but we all know that he won't be punished and it's very possible he could come after me or..." She began ranting on when I stopped her.

"Hold up. Are you asking me to choose between you or my brother or saying that I don't give a shit about you enough to kill my brother? Because believe it or not, he is still my brother and you aren't gonna make me choose between you or him, because of course I will choose him and no matter what happened, which I have tried to express how sorry I am of what him and his pack did to you, but you can't seem to move past it, instead you want to continue playing the victim hoping I'd take enough pity on you to kill my brother! Well it ain't gonna happen!"

"Hold up, YOU have been the one saying all this time you wanted to kill your brother. So don't come back at me as if I am the one who suggested the idea!" She fired at me.

"Yeah, well....Maybe I changed my mind!" I tell her.

Damnit! I hate it when she is right.

"My god! Fine then! But as far as everything else goes, well I guess you'll just have to wait and find out." She fires back at me one last time before turning on her heel and storming out of the room.

She hasn't been a wolf for a long time and I'm sure she knows our laws, however, we have a binding with the head council and I know I will be lucky for him to say he'll help us.

I swear, I can't deal with this right now. So I grab my keys and decide to take my car since I'm still not entirely healed and I speed off towards the hall to speak with the head elder. I just hope he listens to me.
