|*| flashback to our pal Ethan |*|

Ethan Drake boarded the Hogwarts Express alone. He was glad to have finally escaped his home and his brother-mostly his brother. He sat in an empty compartment and stared out the window at the parents hugging their children and ushering them on the train. His parents just dropped him off at the station and left. No words were said; they just left.

His compartment door opened, and he looked up to see a girl walk in. A girl that would become his best friend in less than twelve hours.

"Sorry," she said. "I didn't realize you were in here."

"No, it's fine," he said. "You can sit in here."

The girl smiled and sat down across from him. "I'm Cassie."

"Ethan."

Ethan and Cassie became best friends that were only separated by their houses. When Cassie came to Ethan and told him that a girl could talk to stars, he laughed and told his other friend, Cedric.

Cedric didn't think it was funny once he found out the girl was Aquila.

He told Ethan not to spread those rumors around-Merlin only knew what Aquila would do-but the boy hadn't listened. Before Cedric could've done anything, everybody in the castle knew about Star Girl, a name coined by Carlos Blake.

"Did you spread the Star Girl rumors?"

Ethan was caught off guard by the question. His initial thought was to lie, but he knew she figured it out. Cassie had probably ratted him out. "Quil, I-"

"Did you spread the rumors?" Aquila asked again.

"Yes," he said quietly. "But that was before I had even known who you were!"

"Look, Ethan," she spoke to him in a harsh whisper. "We're gonna pretend like nothing's wrong in front of Cedric and everybody else, but I will be getting my revenge. Once I do, maybe I'll consider being you're friend again."

"What are you gonna do?" he asked.

"If I told you, it wouldn't be as fun to watch." Then Aquila walked away, leaving Ethan alone in the corridor.

"Aquila, you don't have to do this!" Cedric yelled. He had come down to the Hall early to make sure Aquila wasn't setting any traps on Ethan. He caught her putting some strange items on his seat.

"But I do," she said, pushing her green hair out of her face.

"Can't you just hit him and call it done?" Cedric asked. "It'd be a lot easier and less humiliating with the same revengeful effect!"

"Ced, you don't know the first thing about revenge," Aquila said, laughing. "And who said I wasn't going to hit him?"

"Quil, it was one mistake!" he pleaded. "He told me everything last night."

"Yeah, and what did he tell you?"

"He told some Gryffindors and a few Hufflepuffs. When he told me, I had no idea it was you. Carlos found out and came up with that stupid name."

"Were you going to tell me?" Aquila asked.

"That day in Transfiguration I was going to tell you, but you told me about it first. That's when I decided you shouldn't meet Ethan. I didn't want you to judge him over one little thing. He didn't mean any harm."

"Tell Ethan I'll forgive him," Aquila said.

"Really?"

"Right after I get to test these pranks Fred and George made!"

Luckily for Ethan, the twin's jokes did nothing. While Aquila was still bummed out, she had forgiven Ethan without pranking him.

During all of the Star Girl commotion, Aquila had forgotten about her potion. She stole what she needed from Snape's stores that day, and began brewing her potion in Myrtle's bathroom. Jennifer would occasionally drop by, and they would talk as the potion was brewing. Jennifer talked a lot about Neville Longbottom and Calvin Blake, and Aquila told her all about Cedric and Ethan and the twins.

A month later, the potion was complete. Jennifer, Aquila, and Myrtle were gathered around the bubbling potion, and Aquila put in Alexis Greenwall's hairs. "If something doesn't work out right," she said. "Tell my mother I hate her."

"I feel your pain," Jennifer said.

Aquila smiled, "I feel like I'm forgetting something."

"Should we go over your plan again?" Myrtle asked.

"Let's," Aquila said. "I drink the potion and turn into Alexis. Then, I find Carlos and tell him we're breaking up. Then I come back here before the hour runs out. Am I missing anything?"

"Don't think so," Jennifer said.

"Drink it!" Myrtle cheered.

"I was planning on it," Aquila said. She gulped down the potion, then began gagging and coughing.

She caught her reflection in the mirror. She watched her face change into Alexis's. Soon, her hair was golden blonde, and she was a few inches shorter.

"How do I look?" Aquila asked.

"You look ugly," Myrtle said.

"Thanks," Aquila said. "Now, I'm off to slay a dragon."

"Good luck," Jennifer called to her.

"I don't need luck, I'm Aquila Whitman!"
