It was four days before the Yule Ball, and Aquila and Cedric were sitting together in the library. They were studying potions when Fred and George walked over to them with Ethan in tow. The twins sat across from Aquila and Cedric and stared at them intensely.
"Can I help you?" Aquila asked them. Their staring was distracting her, and Cedric began to snicker next to her.
"How's our favorite couple doing?" Fred asked.
"Make any plans for the Yule Ball?" George asked.
"Yeah," Cedric said. "We did-"
"Excuse me?" Aquila asked, looking at Cedric. "I wasn't aware we made plans for the ball."
"Well, we're dating," Cedric said as if it cleared everything up.
"So?" Aquila asked.
"So we're going to the ball together," he stated as if it were obvious.
Aquila snorted, "That's no way to ask me to the ball!"
"Hush!" Fred scolded. "You're in a library! Shhh!"
"Your sushing only makes me want to talk louder," Aquila told him.
"Me too," George said.
"Quil, I just assumed we'd be going together," Cedric said.
"I don't see how you came to that conclusion," Aquila said.
"Okay," he said. "Aquila, would you like to go to the Yule Ball with me?"
"Um, no," she said, flipping her hair and turning away.
"What?" Cedric asked, the shock evident in his voice.
"Don't you ever listen to me, Cedric?" Aquila asked. "Don't you remember in our like... third year when I said I was doing the asking?"
"I believe you said that about marriage," George said.
"When's the wedding?" Fred asked.
George slapped his twin, "We can't rush their relationship, Freddy!"
"Shhh!" Fred scolded. "Library!"
"Okay," Cedric said to Aquila. "Then ask me."
"Um, no," Aquila said.
"What's wrong now?" Cedric asked his girlfriend.
"Everything!" she said. "First, were in a library. Why in Merlin's name would I ask you in this musty book prison?"
"Musty book prison?" Ethan asked.
"Shut up, eyebrow sweat," Aquila snapped.
"Oh, she told you," Fred said.
"I don't recall asking for your side notes, Weasley," she said.
"Ha!" George laughed.
"You too, other Weasley!"
"Other Weasley?" George repeated. "I'm offended. I think Ron's the other Weasley."
"Yeah," Fred said. "George and I share the title of Grand Master Weasley."
"And Grand Master of all Masters Aquila is not amused," Aquila said. She returned to her conversation with her boyfriend. "Ced, I want to ask you at the right time; you know, when you least expect it."
"That sounds more like a prank," Cedric said. "Can't we just agree to go together?"
"Where's the tradition in that?" Aquila asked.
