As the year was beginning to come to a close, Aquila began receiving multiple letters, each progressively longer than the last, from her mother about how she should change the outlandish color of her hair. She thought these letters were strange and seemed to come out of nowhere, so she discarded them in the usual way. Every night at exactly midnight, she, Alexis, and Carlos would meet by the common room fireplace and ritualistically burn the letters.

"Have you brought the offerings?" Alexis asked Aquila in a dark voice. Carlos stood behind her, holding a lit candle in his hand and his wand in the other. All three students were wearing the hoods of their cloaks on their heads.

"I have brung fourth these, my offerings, to the flames eternal," Aquila said, causing the other two to roll their eyes.

"Quil, we've discussed this at the last meeting," Carlos said. "We're not doing the Shakespearean thing anymore."

"I was being ominous," she told him. "We agreed to be ominous."

"You're being too ominous," he informed her. "Tone it down."

"Fine," she said with an audible sigh. "I have the ruddy letters."

"Spectacular," Alexis said. "Let us gather around the fireplace and light the flame."

The three students gathered around the unlit fireplace, and Carlos leaned down and, using the candle, he lit the fire, creating the flame. The firelight gave the students' faces an eerie glow, and Aquila smirked evilly. "Aquila, the mighty eagle, light the offerings by the fiery flame," Carlos said, stepping aside for her.

"Fiery flame?" Aquila asked. "That's a shitty description if you ask me."

"At least I don't sound like the ghost of Gryffindor," he countered.

"There is no ghost of Gryffindor. It's a portrait."

"You know what I meant!"

"Don't ever compare me to Gryffindor again, you little-"

"JUST BURN THE LETTERS!" Alexis yelled, silencing the petty argument. Aquila nodded quickly and tossed the letters in the fireplace.

"See what you did, Carlos?" she asked after the tossed in the letters. "You ruined our ominous gathering."

He folded his arms and flared at her. "Suck my dick, Aquila," he muttered angrily.

"No, suck my dick," Aquila retorted snobbishly.

"Keep your dicks in your pants, guys," Alexis told them, attempting to quell the argument before the other students woke up. "You need to be quieter."

"Hear that, Carlos?" Aquila asked. "You need to be more freaking quiet."

"No, you-"

Alexis stomped her foot, stopping Carlos in his tracks. "No, you both need to be quiet. Someone's gonna hear us."

"That person can suck my dick," Aquila informed Alexis.

"Nobody is sucking anyone's dick," Alexis stated. "Stop this madness before-"

"Too late," Carlos said, leaning towards a figure behind the two girls. Aquila and Alexis turned around quickly and saw Draco Malfoy glaring at them from a distance.

"What is the meaning of this disturbance?" he asked. "You should be asleep."

Aquila was ready to fight him. "And you should suck my di-"
