Aquila was ready for the best Christmas of her life. She woke up with excitement in her veins, and she danced trough the hallway to Cedric's room with her fuzzy green robe flowing behind her. She decided it would be best to knock on his door rather than to just barge in; if he had any more embarrassing underwear designs, she didn't want to know about them.

He answered the door, and Aquila was relieved to see him fully clothed. They shared a quick good morning kiss and held hands as they walked to the living room where the Christmas tree was. Since the curtains were closed and the lights were off, the tree was the only light source, and it was beautiful. A million little lights shown brightly like fireflies. The presents under the tree from Cedric's family shimmered in the light, and the smile on Aquila's face brightened.

"It's so beautiful," she said in awe.

Cedric wrapped his arm around her. "Not as beautiful as you," he told her.

"Stop it," mumbled with a smile. "But I don't understand. There wasn't even a tree here yesterday. How-?"

"It's a tradition in our family to put the tree up on Christmas Eve night," he explained. "We were going to let you help, but you were fast asleep, and I didn't want to wake you. Besides, we all thought it would be a nice surprise."

"I am really surprised," she told him. "So, clue me in on the rest of your Christmas traditions."

"Okay," he said. "We don't start opening gifts until Mum and Dad rush in with the cookies. Mum takes a million pictures, and she puts all of them into the scrapbooks and photo albums. Dad gets pretty drunk, and Mum and I like to mess with him. And, there's mistletoe placed in various spots around and outside the house, and I finally have a Christmas where I won't feel awkward walking under it alone."

She laughed. "Poor little Cedric, alone on Christmas while everyone else is snogging. It must have been a rough sixteen years."

He smiled. "The wait was worth it."

Aquila blushed slightly, awkwardly bringing her hands to her sides. "Stop being cute; it's too early for this."

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him. "It's never too early to make you smile."

"Seriously cut it out!" she exclaimed, tilting her head up slightly to meet his eyes. There wasn't much of a height difference between the two, but Cedric was a bit taller. "I can't compete with this! I thought I was the witty and cute one in this relationship."

"That's funny, because I recall you saying you were the alpha male in the relationship." He tapped her nose with his finger, and she squinted her eyes in response, a small laugh escaping her lips.

"I hate that you remember all the stupid shit I say." She grabbed each of his hands in her own and began swinging them around slightly.

"You're too cute to forget." He planted a kiss on her forehead.

Aquila sighed. "I'm trying really hard to be mad at you right now, so can you please stop being cheesy for a second because you're making this very difficult on me."

The door to the living room burst open, and in came Amos and his wife, clad in matching Christmas pajamas and bright smiles. Behind them were plates of cookies floating with magic; the trays landed on a table in the corner of the room. Mrs. Diggory, who had a camera around her neck, snapped a quick picture of the two seventh years and smiled at how cute it was.

"Happy Christmas kids!" she cheered, wrapping both of her children in a hug. Amos did the same afterwards, and they all began opening gifts.

Aquila and Cedric gave the adults their presents first, starting with Mrs. Diggory. They got her a pair of magical oven mitts that were enchanted to prevent burns better than the basic Muggle ones she already owned.

They got Amos coffee mug, but inside it was not coffee, but tea, his favorite breakfast drink. All he needed to do was say the type of tea he wanted, then tap the mug with his wand. It was an endless supply of tea, and the man was so happy about receiving it. He began using it the moment he opened it.

The adults had gotten Cedric a high end broom polishing kit, and they got Aquila a book on the full process of becoming an Animagus. When she asked how they found out of her plans, all fingers pointed to Cedric, who hid behind a pillow, not knowing how she'd take the news. Jokingly, she hit him with the pillow, and they both laughed about it.

Then, it was Aquila's turn to give Cedric her gift. "You're going to wish your gift is as good as mine," she told him as he unwrapped her gift to him.

When the wrapping paper was thrown on the floor and the gift was fully exposed, Cedric began laughing violently. He was staring at a poster of himself that was made to look like the one of Viktor Krum. The moving picture was of him doing his "signature pose" and then proceeding to fall off the broom. The text at the bottom of the page read, "CEDRIC DIGGORY, THE FUTURE OF QUIDDITCH."

He then opened her card. It was a mess of inside jokes and crayon marks, but he loved it nonetheless. "Happy Christmas Quidditch Boy. Wow, do you even remember when I came up with that one? It was first year of something. It's crazy that we've known each other since first year, and I've loved you from the start. Is this cheesy enough for you? I'm trying to give you a run for your money. Love, Boa Constrictor."

However, the debate for best gift was still up in the air after she opened her gift from him. At first, it appeared to be an ordinary shard of glass, but when she raise it to the celling, she could see the outside sky. "It's for the nights in the Slytherin dorms," he explained. "So you don't have to sneak up to the owlery to see the stars."

"This is amazing," she told him. "You're amazing."

"I am the future of Quidditch after all," he reminded her. "I'm the epitome of amazing."

"I love you," she said.

"I love you too," he replied.
