|*| I've got a story about Richard up in my drafts yay! I should be posting it really soon! Emphasis on should because I'm a procrastinator. |*|
"It's tomorrow!" Cedric shouted at Ethan. "The Yule Ball is tomorrow and she still hasn't asked me!"
"Calm yourself, Ced," Ethan said. "Maybe she's just waiting for the right time."
"The right time better come soon," Cedric said. "She had less than twenty four hours now! I can't show up to the Yule Ball alone!"
"Relax, mate," Ethan said. "If she doesn't ask you, I'll be your date."
Cedric sighed, "Thanks, Eth; you're such a good friend."
Suddenly, there was a loud shout from outside the Hufflepuff common room. "HOW DOES THIS BLOODY THING WORK?"
"Speaking of Aquila," Ethan said. "That's her now."
"What is she doing?" Cedric asked.
"Trying to find her way in."
"That's rubbish. Only a Hufflepuff can find their way in."
Ethan slapped Cedric's arm. "Shut up."
Cedric walked out of the common room and found Aquila shouting at a wall. "He said it was here!" She shouted. "Damn you, Ethan!"
"Quil?" Cedric asked. "What in Merlin's name are you doing?"
Aquila sighed, "Thank Merlin! I thought you Hufflepuffs had gone into hibernation!"
"Hibernation?" Cedric asked. "Why would you think that?"
"Nobody knows what Hufflepuffs do in their spare time," Aquila said. "For all I know, you could be in their braiding each other's hair or carving faces into odd vegetables!"
Ethan seemed to appear out of nowhere to say, "I suggest using radishes."
"Why radishes?" Aquila asked.
"Because they're rad," Ethan answered.
"Hufflepuff logic," she muttered. She turned the conversation back to Cedric, "So, I was looking for you! I have a question I'd like to ask."
"Really?" Cedric asked, raising and eyebrow.
"Contain your eyebrows," Aquila said. "That's creepy."
"Sorry," Cedric said. "You were saying?"
"So, there's a ball coming up," Aquila said.
"Yes, and?" Cedric asked, smiling. It was finally happening. Aquila finally decided to ask him to the ball!
"Yes, and-DUCK!" Aquila yelled. She dropped downward as a bludger was released in the corridor. The bludger flew at Cedric, and he was too slow to get out of the way.
He braced himself for impact or pain, but nothing happened. Instead, he felt something soft hit him lightly in the face, then fall to the floor.
"I told you there was a ball coming," Aquila said. She bent down and picked it up. "Oh, look! This ball has a secret message for you!"
"What does it say?" Cedric asked, snatching the ball from her hands. He read the message written on it.
This is not your invitation to the Yule Ball.
Cedric sighed, looking up at Aquila. "Are you-"
"Shhh!" she scolded, covering his mouth with her hand. "That might not be your invitation," she said, "but this is."
Aquila got on one knee and took an origami ring from her pocket. "Cedric Eyebrow Sweat Diggory," she announced. "Would you do me the honor of accompanying me to the evening festivities known as the Yule Ball tomorrow night? A ball to which I will be matching my dress to my hair, and we'll dance the night away to the songs?"
"Of course," Cedric said. "I would be delighted to accompany you to the Yule Ball on my arm, m'lady."
"Anything else you'd like to add, Ceddy?" Ethan asked.
Cedric sighed, turning to Ethan, "I'm sorry, mate, but you and I just aren't working out."
Aquila snorted, "Did he really ask you to the ball?"
"Of course I did!" Ethan yelled. "And he just broke my heart!"
"Get over yourself, Eth," Aquila said. "Didn't you have a date anyway?"
Ethan swallowed, "N-no..."
"It's not too late to get you one!" Aquila cheered. "Let's go!
She grabbed Ethan by his robes and pulled him down the hall
"Aquila!" Cedric yelled, running after her.
"I swear, she's mental..."

"Breathe, Ethan!" Aquila yelled. "Just breathe!"
"I can't!" Ethan choked out. "We just ran down like, fifty flights of stairs-"
"It was only seven," Aquila corrected. "But carry on."
"There is no girl in this school without a date!" Ethan shouted. "This is going to be pointless."
"Oh, contraire," she said. "See that Beauxbatons girl? She's stands and sulks in this corridor every day. That's a girl without a date."
"Do you even know who she is?"
"Her name is Gwenivire, and she's super nice. I've talked to her a few times. Gave her a tour as well."
"You think she'll say yes?" Ethan asked.
"She is desperate," Aquila said nonchalantly.
"Great!" Ethan said sarcastically. "If I get turned down, I'll know I'm not even good enough to be a last resort!"
"Go get her then!" Aquila said, patting him on the back.
"What?!"
"Ethan, you have to ask her!"
