"I want to ride my broom," Cedric told him mother after breakfast. Amos had left to run some errands, leaving Mrs. Diggory in charge of two rowdy teenagers. Aquila was sitting quietly at the dinner table, watching her honorary mom bake cookies while her boyfriend kept asking if he could fly his broom.

"Cedric, it's too cold for that today," his mother explained as she mixed cookie batter. She preferred to bake without using her wand, saying that the best form of magic was love, and "You can't cast love from a wand."

"I'll only be out there for a few minutes," he pleaded. "I want to try and learn some new tricks before we get back to school."

"You should come up with a signature move," Aquila suggested. "After you catch the Snitch, you can have a go-to pose."

"Yeah!" Cedric agreed. "Can I please go outside for a while, Mom? Just a little bit!"

The woman sighed. "If you end up with frost bite, I'll say I told you so."

"Thanks!" he cheered, running to the door. "Love you, Mom!"

Mrs. Diggory went back to her baking after mumbling something about Cedric being a strange child, and Aquila watched him from the widow. He looked so happy flying through the air, and she smiled watching him. As she did, she thought about what to get him for Christmas, but nothing came to mind. Eventually, she decided her best bet would be to ask him mom.

"He's not very hard to shop for, dear," she told the green haired girl. "You could get him table scraps, and he'd thank you with a bear hug."

"But I don't want to get him table scraps," Aquila explained. "I want to get him a gift with meaning or something. You know, something he'll look at and think of me and really enjoy having like from those silly romance books or something."

"Well, you just have to think about what he likes," the woman told her. "Just think about it for a minute, and you'll have a great gift in no time."

"Hmm," she wondered out loud. "I definitely want to get Quidditch in somehow... and the color yellow; yes, yellow for sure. And he's got all those silly posters all over his room, so maybe... that's it!" She suddenly had an idea and ran to get her camera. Wrapping her scarf around her neck, she dashed outside and waved him down.

"Hey!" she called. "Can I get a picture of that signature pose? It's for the history books."

He beamed at her. "Whenever you're ready, baby."

"Alright," Aquila said. "One, two, three, fly!" She took a picture of him flying around the air in a circle and then flashing a smile and smoothing his hair back. "Smooth moves, Ced! Looking super hot."

"Soak it in, Quil," he said, taking both hands off his broom. "One day, this face will be in every Quidditch fan's bedroom."

He leaned slightly foreword, and his broom flew out from under him. Aquila watched him fall for a spilt second before reaching for her wand. "What's the spell? What's the spell?" she asked herself quickly. "Umm, aresto momentum?"

She managed to stop his fall when he was barely an inch off the ground. "Oh Merlin!" she exclaimed. "Are you okay?" She rushed over to his side and grabbed his hand.

"I'm fine," he told her. "Are my eyebrows still on?"

She laughed. "Still on and looking fabulous," Aquila reassured him. She gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "You could've been seriously hurt."

"Lucky I had you around, huh?"

"You're always lucky to have me around."

Later that day before dinner, Aquila Apparated to Diagon Alley to get the finishing touches for Cedric's Christmas gift. First, she had her picture developed, then she went to the Quality Quidditch Supply store. At the end of her trip, she had one very large box and a small bag. She Disapparated back to the Diggorys' house and wrapped the gifts.

Once they were wrapped to perfection, she began drawing up a card full of inside jokes and cheesy sayings. She knew how much he liked cheesy sayings.

She finished up her card making just in time for dinner, and she spent time with her family eating mashed potatoes and laughing about all the times Cedric fell off his broom.
