I've been feeling feverish for some time now, it was on and off and I hardly do things that I loved to do. It was bothering me so much and didn't know what to do. Whiles Max on the other hand tried his best to make me happy at any given chance but I was just not in the spirit. All I wanted was to be alone and sleep all day. I don't even play basketball like I used to, I became a whole new person.

"What's wrong Lani, you are not yourself anymore." Max asked and gave me a cup of tea before sitting right next to me.

"I don't know Max, I feel weird." I said sadly, not liking this for me at all, it was devastating.

"Hey you have tears in your eyes." Max said and I looked away, trying to hide it from him but I couldn't as I bursted into tears.

"There.. cry it all." He said rubbing my back as I sobbed softly in my palms. "Feeling better now?" He asked as soon as I stopped crying and I nodded.

"Kind of." I said.

"Would you like to see a doctor or something?"

"No that wouldn't be necessary, I'm not ill. I just feel heavy and weird. It used to be yeast infection, now I feel weird." I chuckled.

"Don't worry too much, just give yourself some time, you will feel better again." He said reaching for our backpacks and I nodded. "Come on now, lets go to class." He said.

"We still have about twenty minutes before lectures begins, can we sit for a while? You know I don't play basketball anymore, sitting here kinda makes feel a little better." I said to him, not wanting to leaving the basketball court so soon.

"Lani don't tell me you are planning on skipping lectures today." He joked just to make me feel a little better and I smiled.

"Silly." I said and sipped on my tea.

Lectures was over and Max and I sat under one of the trees on campus, as he briefed me on what the lecturer taught today. Because I slept throughout the whole teaching.

"Hey what's up guys?" Our friends Mike and prince greeted, approaching us with coffees in their hands, and I squeezed my face at the coffee. I really loved coffee but I felt nauseous seeing them have it.

"Hey guys." I greeted back and they sat next to us under the tree. "I barely see you two around. What have you guys been up to?"

"We've been up to nothing, just around trying to meddle into people's business as usual." Mike said and we laughed, he play too much.

"You are so silly." I said smiling.

"How about you? Its been a while you played basketball with us." He asked and I sighed.

"Been feeling down a lot lately, but will play with you guys again soon when I feel a lot better."

At school today we were told we would be going for an excursion in Africa Ghana in three days time. And I was super excited about it, because my dad was from Ghana and automatically that made me a half Ghanaian. I was so happy to revisit the homeland after so many years, I was three years old the last time I visited Ghana with both my parents. Its been 21 years now and words couldn't explain how happy I was to revisit Ghana again in a very long time.

I immediately gave mom a call after our school chancellor broke the news to us and she was as well happy. Though it was a short notice, I wasn't going to miss the golden opportunity to visit Ghana again.

As soon as I got home and dropped my backpack on my bed, my phone rang and I immediately reached for it from the back of my pocket. And it was Bella, my friend nurse calling. "Hey Bella what's up?" I answered with a smile, Bella became my very good friend. The last time we saw each other was at the hospital three weeks ago. But we called each other more often and chatted online all the time, she was a lovely person and I liked her so much.

"I'm good how are you?"

"I'm okay, just trying to find my way out of my weakness as usual." I told Bella about my sudden tiredness and weakness since she was a nurse, But all her advices and prescribed medicines wasn't working.

"You will be fine Milani, just keep taking your vitamins and you shall be fine." She said and I exhaled.

"Alright." I said.

"Uh I want you to come over to my place, I hope that wouldn't be a problem?" She requested.

"Of course that wouldn't be a problem, send me your address and I will be there shortly." I said excited to see her again.

I pulled over at Bella's beautiful mansion in about thirty minutes later, and it was more than I imagined. There were lots of bodyguards guarding the mansion and I wondered why it was that. She told me her father was wealthy but never actually told me what he does for a living.
As I kept wondering why there was tight security in the place, one of the bodyguards walked up to me and asked me to follow him into the mansion, which I simply obeyed. My mouth dropped open when I stepped into the living room of the mansion, just couldn't believe where I was, it was huge and spectacular.

"Wow." I whispered in awe as I looked around, loving what I was seeing.

"Hi." A voice ranged from behind and I instantly turned and saw a tall handsome guy sitting at the far end of the living room having alcohol.

"Hi." I greeted back with a smile, wondering who he was.

"You must be Milani." He smirked and I was quite surprised he knew my name.

"Yes I am, and you are?" I asked nicely and he tilted his head with a smile.

"Lani!" Bella called running down the stairs and I ran to give her a hug. It was my first time seeing her in three weeks and I was so excited. It was amazing how we became fond of each other so quickly. "Thanks for coming." She said as soon as we pulled back.

"Don't mention, uh you never told me you had a brother." I said referring to the handsome guy and she giggled.

"Dante is like a brother to me, he is one of my dad's Mafia friends." She said and I froze, trying to process what she meant by her dad's mafia friend.

"M..mafia." I stuttered with wide eyes and she nodded, then I swallowed hard as negative thoughts began to flood my mind. Feared she asked me to come over for some deadly reasons.

"Yeah my dad is a mafia, come lets sit." She said pulling me to a seat, as I couldn't believe I was in a mafia's house.
