"I didn't mean to leave without telling her again, Gabby," I said, frustration etched on my face. I paused, running my fingers through my hair as I struggled to articulate my thoughts. My feelings for Milani had finally crystallized, and they were overwhelming. She was unlike any woman I'd ever met and I couldn't shake the desire I felt for her, even knowing she was pregnant. It was irrational, yet undeniable.
But one question lingered, how could Milani be pregnant yet still a virgin until our encounter last night? The possibility swirled in my mind could she be a surrogate?
"What was the reason this time, Sultan?" Gabby's tone was laced with incredulity. He couldn't believe I'd left Milani again, especially after our intimate encounter.
I shook my head, searching for answers myself. "I don't know, I don't know," I admitted truthfully and Gabby's expression turned serious.
"Sultan, give your heart a chance to love, bro. Free yourself from this crazy notion that women only want you for your money." His voice was filled with conviction. "Yes, a few of them might have been after your wealth, but trust me, there are still good women out there who'll love you for who you are." I remained silent, wishing Gabby's words were true. Just then, my secretary Kimberly walked in with some papers, breaking the tense moment.

As I sipped my coffee and responded to emails, a hand suddenly came to rest on my shoulder. I turned to see who it was, and my gaze met Veronica's. "Get your hands off me," I growled, my tone low and even. She removed her hand, a smirk playing on her lips."Is this how you treat the mother of your child?" she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'm carrying your baby, Sultan. At least have the decency to treat me with some care and respect."
I rolled my eyes, unimpressed. "Next time, knock before entering my room," I said curtly and she shrugged, her expression unrepentant.
"Rude," she muttered.
"Let me make one thing clear, I'm only allowing you to stay in my house because of our baby. Don't do anything that might make me reconsider." I fixed Veronica with a stern gaze. She shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant, but I could see the flicker of annoyance in her eyes.
"I get it," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Anyway, I'm freezing. I'm so cold," she added, batting her eyelashes at me in a puppy-like expression. I chuckled, knowing she was lying through her teeth. She didn't want warmth; she wanted sex.
"Take a warm shower, turn off the air conditioning, and snuggle up with a blanket. Now, get out," I said, dismissing her.
