Six months on...

Dream turns one today and I'm so happy to see my angel grow so quickly. We decide to throw a little party to celebrate her on her special day. Granny and Esi are busy decorating the living room, as well as taking care of other stuffs so the party comes out perfect and fun. I'm really happy living with grandma here and I don't even feel like going back to America anytime soon, it feels so right to be amongst people who shows you actual genuine love and support.

My phone goes off in the middle of getting Dream ready for her party, "hey mom." I answer.

"Hey sweetheart, how is Dreamy doing?" she doesn't ask of me anymore. All she cares about is Dream's well being, I'm so jealous.

"She's good."

"Great let me talk to her," I gently place the phone near Dream's ear.

"You can talk to her now."

"Hello granny's girl, happy birthday to you!" mom says in a loving voice and Dream giggles.

"Ma..ma!" she happily says as she rocks back and forth, mama is the only word she says lately.

"Mom I miss you," I place the phone back to my ear.

"I miss you too sweetheart, when are you coming back?" she sadly asks and I sigh, I really hate it when she asks this question because I don't know when I'm coming.

"Soon mom, I just want to spend more time with my relatives that's all. You know, its been so long and I'm trying to know more about them, they are good people."

"I know Lani, don't forget to send videos and pictures after the party."

"I won't forget Jade."

"Okay I love you."

"I love you more," I say and hang up.

"Ma-ma!" Dream exclaims and I slightly pinch her cheek.

"Happy birthday once again!" I peck her lips before scooping her up, "your are one year young today baby, I'm so blessed to be your mom."

"Ma..ma," she calls again and I laugh a little.

"Yeah honey, now give mummy a big kiss!" she cups my cheek and gives me a big kiss which instantly melt my heart.

"Thanks Dreamy," I say and we walk out of the room.

We get to the living room and everybody is present, including few kids Esi organized with the maid servants. The decoration is stunningly beautiful and comforting, I just can't stop smiling.

Dream on the other hand is obviously excited to see lots of kids in here, so I let her down and hold her hand. She is not perfect at walking yet, she literally waits for few seconds before taking another step.

Granny walks to us and scoops happy Dream up to her giant cake, then we all gather ourselves in front of the cake as well.

"Okay everybody, it's time to sing for our dear baby Dream!" Grandma says.

"Ready go!!" Esi yells and we start singing and Dream couldn't be any happier. After singing, granny holds her chubby hand and they cut the cake, whiles Esi takes couple of cute pictures and videos. Bella, Dante,Gabby and Max called and wished her a happy birthday too. It is a joyous day to remember forever.

Party is over and it's now 7:30pm, I've been cuddling Dream to sleep for the past thirty minuets now, but it seems she has no plans of sleeping anytime soon.

"Well little Miss.. we should prolly go for a walk," I say, fixing her into her stroller.

We are out strolling in the street of Accra, enjoying every moment out here. I love the way everyone out here is busy with their own thing, especially sellers happily selling their stuffs even though it's not a great business. I then decide to stop by a small table noodle restaurant to have some, Esi really loves to buy noodles from them so I want to have a taste of it tonight.

"Um good evening," I greet the lady behind the small table noodle restaurant.

"Good evening madam," she responds and I can tell she really can't speak English, so I begin to look around to see if there's somebody out here to help us with translation, but there's actually nobody. Literally everybody is busy doing their thing and the ones who looks like they could help us cannot speak English either.

"Uh I want some, how much is it?" I say every word gesturing so she can understand what I mean.

"Wo si den?"  she probably speak Twi and I laugh a little because I don't understand, this is weird.

"This is gonna be so hard," I mumble as I smile, still looking around for a translator.

"Obroni wo be y3 indomie anaa?"  she say something again and I heard the name of the noodle, I think she is asking if I want some.

"Yeah yeah indomie," I point at the indomie.

"Oh yoo tinase wai.. mey3 indomie ten cedis ama wo," she says pointing at a bench behind her and I nod when I figured she wants me to have a sit.

I sit quietly as I watch her prepare my noodles, not long and two teenage girls comes to order a noodle as well, they sit beside me on the bench waiting for their noodle too. Shortly after, I catch them glancing at Dream every second and I can tell they want to play with her so badly.

"Do you wanna hold her?" I ask them and they nod, "alright." I scoop Dream up and sit her on the laps of the one sitting right next to me.

"Obroni ba,"  they say and begin to play and sing for her in their dialect as I watch in awe. Dream seems to love the song so much.

The lady finally finish with my indomie and I pay her, it's now time to take Dream from them and I hate to do so. But I still have to take her home, it's quite late and it's getting cold out here.

"We have to go home now," I tell them and they nod before giving Dream back to me, "she really loved the songs you sang for her." I nicely tell them and they nod with a smile.

"What's her name?" one of them asks.

"She's Dream."

"Nice name," they say nicely.

"Thanks guys."

"Welcome."

"Alright we have to leave now bye," I says leaving.

"Bye Dream.."
