Before I left for Ghana, I asked Gabby to discreetly investigate Veronica. Her elusiveness and intelligence had piqued my curiosity, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that something wasn't quite right. Her eagerness to have my child, despite her thriving career, only added to my skepticism. I was determined to uncover the truth, and Gabby's findings were the key.
As I sat in my office, I found myself growing increasingly restless, my mind consumed by thoughts of what Gabby might have discovered. I couldn't focus on my work, my anxiety building with each passing minute.
The moment Gabby walked in, I straightened up, my eyes locked on his. "Real bad news," he said, taking a seat, and my heart sank.
"Tell me," I said, my teeth clenched in anticipation, as I steeled myself for what was to come.
"Veronica is engaged to a mafia member named Enrique, and they're getting married soon." Gabby's words dropped like a bombshell. And my jaw plummeted, leaving me speechless and reeling in shock. "She's only interested in you for your wealth," Gabby continued, his tone matter-of-fact. "She needs millions of dollars to clear Enrique's debts."
"What?" The revelation left me stunned, and I couldn't believe I had almost fallen into her trap. "Our doubts about her were spot on," I said, my voice laced with disgust. "She's nothing but a gold digger." I grimaced, still trying to wrap my head around the situation. "This is ridiculous. How could she be so cunning?"
"She's one crazy woman." Gabby said, shaking his head. And I scoffed, incredulous that Veronica thought she could manipulate me so easily.
"She's actually dumb enough to think she could claim my possessions by having my child?" "I'm utterly speechless right now," I said, still trying to wrap my head around the shocking revelation. "Veronica, engaged and after my money? It's simply unbelievable. I feel like I've been living in a bubble, oblivious to her true intentions." Gabby nodded in agreement, his expression somber.
"Exactly Sultan. It's a classic case of a gold digger. She's been playing you all along, using her charm and beauty to manipulate you into giving her what she wants." He said and I snorted, running my fingers through my hair in frustration.
"No words can adequately express how I'm feeling right now. I'm angry, betrayed, and disappointed all at once. How could I have been so blind?"
"So, what's next? Now that you know her true intentions, how do you plan to handle it? Are you going to confront her, or do you have something else in mind?" Gabby asked and I smiled wryly, a plan already forming in my mind.
"I'll keep seeing her, but she won't get a dime from me. In fact, I'll make sure she gets nothing but a taste of her own medicine. She thinks she can play me for a fool? Well, I've got news for her. I'm not going down without a fight." Gabby chuckled, clearly amused by my plan.
"Veronica needs to be punished, and I swear she'll regret underestimating you, Sultan. You're a force to be reckoned with, and she's about to find out the hard way."
"She deserves it and more. I won't let her manipulate me for her own gain. It's time someone taught her a lesson, and I'm just the man to do it." I emphasized, my voice firm and resolute. And Gabby nodded in approval, a smile still playing on his lips.
"I love your plan, Sultan. She's got it coming, and I'm excited to see how it all plays out."
"I just can't believe she had such evil plans for me all along. It's a good thing I found out before it was too late."
"So, what about that girl? Gabby asked.
"What girl?" I asked, feigning ignorance and he chuckled knowingly.
"Milani, the girl you've been secretly watching from afar. Don't think I haven't noticed."
I rubbed my face, feeling a mix of confusion and embarrassment. As Memories of the night I met her at the poolside flooded my mind. For about a week now, I'd been secretly watching her from a distance, monitoring her every move without any logical reason. It was as if I was drawn to her, captivated by her beauty and innocence.
"Gabby honestly, I don't even know why I spy on her," I admitted, feeling frustrated. "But the truth is, I feel great whenever I do that. She's pretty, innocent... thinking about her freaks me out, but I just can't stop."
"This is actually your first time speaking genuinely about a girl, is it because she's a virgin?" Gabby asked, raising an eyebrow and I shrugged.
"I don't know."
"Honestly, you shouldn't have left her the way you did. It was totally wrong. You lured her into... well, whatever happened between you two, and then left the following morning without saying a word to her. Do you know the kind of questions you left her to ask herself when she woke up and found you were gone?"
"No, no, I didn't have sex with her." I corrected him hastily.
"Still doesn't change the fact that you left without informing her. Why did you do that?" He asked but I hesitated, unsure of how to respond.
