"Veronica why did you have to tell her I'm your baby father? Was that necessary?" I gritted out, angry at the fact that she couldn't keep her mouth shut. She showed up out of nowhere to my office this morning, saying she was pregnant with my child, but I doubted her. So we went to three different hospitals and ran a pregnancy test and true to her words, she was actually a month pregnant. I remembered the last sex we had was the day I was leaving for Ghana so it made sense. I was happy I was going to become a father, but with Veronica I wasn't at all happy.
"Oh please, but that's who you are right?" She said and I rubbed my face out of frustration.
"Get in the car before I leave you here." I said walking to my car angrily, hating this for me.
The fact that I needed to accommodate her until she gives birth, broke me. But there was nothing I could do, she was carrying my child and it was safer if she lived with me, I didn't trust her to live elsewhere with my child, she was dangerous.
I was so confused, frustrated and angry whiles I drive us to the house. But I smiled when the thought of Milani came in mind, forgetting Veronica was in the car with me. Milani was looking cute and adorable in her sweat pants and white shirt, I couldn't drive pass her. I wanted to see those beautiful eyes and those pink plump lips once again. That was why I pulled over, but she didn't give me the chance to talk to her.
The drive home was silent and I appreciated Veronica for staying silent, because she gave me migraines whenever she talked.
"Hi mom." I greeted mom as soon as we walked into the living room, but she was obviously not happy to see Veronica.
"How was work today?" She asked yet staring at Veronica.
"Hectic, I was in my office and she showed up." I said referring to Veronica.
"Why did she show up after weeks of not hearing from her?" Mom said.
"She's pregnant with my child." I said and mom furrowed her brows.
"Pregnant?" Mom stuttered out of shock.
"Yes Sarah, I'm carrying your grandchild so please treat me nicely, the baby will need that." Veronica said rubbing her flat stomach and I rolled my eyes.
"Alright Veronica, don't worry at all, I promise to treat my unborn grandchild good." Mom assured with a smile.
"Good, I'm going to make myself comfortable in one of the rooms, my baby needs some rest now." She informed and starting walking upstairs and I chuckled hating this for me.
"Sultan is it true?" Mom asked as soon as Veronica left.
"I wish it was not true mom, yes I wanted her to carry my child but not anymore. She is engaged." I exhaled deeply not liking it at all.
"This is not good." She said. "But it's okay, just think about your child she's carrying."
"Absolutely." I said and she nodded.
"Now go take a shower and come back for dinner, I made your favorite." I nodded.
"I will be back in twenty minutes." I said heading upstairs.
