I collapsed onto the floor, panting heavily after hours of intense basketball game. Max and I literally lived for basketball. "Argh, I feel like I'm going to pass out," I joked, trying to catch my breath. Then Max chuckled and sat down beside me.

"And I would leave you lying here if you do," he teased, grinning. I laughed and handed him a bottle of water.

"Silly," I said, smiling.

As we sat there, sweating and exhausted, I turned to Max with a serious expression and said. "Hey, do you mind coming with me to the hospital? I've got a, uh, bizarre injection scheduled," I said.

"Hell no!" his response was immediate and emphatic. I chuckled and laughed, enjoying the lighthearted moment.

"Whatever," I said, playfully rolling my eyes as I took a swig of water from my bottle. "I think we should head home now."

Max agreed, and we began gathering our belongings from the floor. Just as we were about to exit the basketball court, a voice called out my name from behind. I turned to see who it was, and my eyes landed on Lisa, a notorious rich girl with a reputation for being a spoiled brat.

Lisa's mission in life seemed to be getting under my skin, and she had a particular interest in Max. She had a crush on him, but Max wasn't having it. He wasn't interested in her, despite her wealth and supposed beauty. In fact, Lisa had a reputation for having affairs with almost every guy on campus, but Max was immune to her charms.

Lisa's issue with me stemmed from her misconception that Max and I were an item. We had intentionally fueled this rumor to keep her at bay.

As she approached me, I adopted a neutral expression. "And how may I help you, Lisa Sharp?" I asked, my tone detached and she scoffed, her eyes narrowing.

"Attitude," she muttered, taking a step closer.

Max sensed the tension and drew closer, wrapping his arm around my neck in a possessive gesture. "Lisa, we were about to leave when you stopped us," I said, my eyes locked on hers. "What's up?"

"Duh," her response was dismissive, accompanied by an eye roll that conveyed her irritation. Her expression turned sinister as she sneered, "I don't care how lovey-dovey you two get, I'm definitely going to have him sooner or later. Believe that."

With that, she turned on her heel and walked away, leaving me staring after her in amusement. "She's got some nerve," I said, shaking my head at her audacity.

I pulled into the hospital premises, anxious about the injection scheduled for today. However, my anxiety quickly turned to frustration as I struggled to find a parking spot. The lot was packed, and I was starting to get worried that I'd be late for my appointment.

Just as I was about to give up hope, I noticed a nurse approaching my car with a warm smile on her face. She seemed to have noticed my struggle to find a parking spot.

"Hi," I said, smiling hopefully at the nurse.

"Looking for a space to park your car?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with kindness. And I let out a sigh of relief.

"Of course," I replied, nodding, then She pointed to my left.

"Please take that way. You'll find a small parking spot on your way."

"Thanks."  My gaze drifted to her name tag, and I saw that her name was Bella.

"You're welcome," she said with a smile.

"Okay, I've got to go now, Bella," I said, noticing a flicker of surprise on her face as she realized I had read her name tag.

"Yeah, sure," she replied with a smile, and I drove off in the direction she had indicated.
