I gently rubbed my belly, whispering a promise to my unborn child. "I promise to be a good and understanding mom, to love and cherish you forever." My heart swelled with affection for the little one growing inside me. I couldn't wait to meet him or her.
Just as I was savoring this intimate moment, the doorbell rang, breaking the spell. I made my way downstairs, curiosity getting the better of me. I turned the knob and opened the door, and my eyes widened in surprise.
Sultan stood on my porch, looking dashing and smelling incredible. I felt a flutter in my chest, despite myself.
"You again?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant despite my inner turmoil.
"Please, let me in." His eyes locked onto mine, his expression sincere. I exhaled a deep breath, stepping aside to allow him entry. As he walked past me, I couldn't help but wonder what had brought him to my doorstep once more.
"What is it again?" I asked, my patience wearing thin. His expression turned slightly offended.
"Why do you always ask that?" he countered, his eyes narrowing.
"Listen, change your expression before I lose my temper. I'm fucking furious right now." I stood my ground, my tone firm. To my surprise, Sultan burst out laughing. It was the first time I'd seen him laugh, and it caught me off guard. My anger dissipated, replaced by curiosity.
"I think I love it when you're furious," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement. I chuckled, despite myself.
"Stop it Sultan," I said, trying to compose myself. "I actually thought you came here to..." I trailed off, unsure how to finish.
His eyes locked onto mine, his gaze intense. He drew me closer, the gap between us shrinking to almost nothing. His hot, minty breath wafted across my face, making my head spin.
"You thought I came here for what?" he whispered, his lips inches from mine. I shivered at his proximity, my heart racing with anticipation.
"I thought you came here to apologize," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
Sultan's smirk was fleeting, replaced by a soft, gentle kiss on my lips. My body shivered in response, my heart skipping a beat.
"You want me to say sorry, huh?" he whispered, his lips still touching mine. I nodded slowly, my eyes locked on his.
"Alright, I'll say sorry," he murmured, his voice low and husky. Before I knew it, Sultan swept me off my feet, cradling me in his arms in a romantic bridal style. Our eyes remained locked on each other's as he carried me up to my room, the tension between us palpable.
Gently, he laid me on the bed, his body following mine as he settled on top of me. He adjusted his weight, his face inches from mine, our lips almost touching.
His gaze roamed over me, his eyes filled with adoration. "You're perfect, Lani," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down my spine.
He trailed kisses along my skin, his touch igniting a fire within me. I arched my back, a soft moan escaping my lips as he lavished attention on my body.
His lips danced across my skin, leaving a trail of sparks in their wake. I felt alive, my senses heightened as he explored every inch of me.
Finally, he returned to my lips, his kiss tender and passionate. His fingers brushed against me, sending a jolt of electricity through my body.
Before I knew it, he pulled my thong together with my shorts down my legs and got in between my thighs.
He instantly connected our bodies, our bodies entwining as one. I couldn't help but moan softly, lost in the intensity of the moment.
Sultan kept saying sorry into my ears. He apologized all the way through.

As morning dawned, I slowly opened my eyes, greeted by the warmth of a new day. I yawned and stretched, but hesitated to roll over, fearing Sultan would be gone again. To shield my heart from potential pain, I got out of bed without looking and headed straight to the bathroom.Under the warm shower, memories of the previous night resurfaced, sending shivers down my spine. I couldn't help but smile, recalling Sultan's gentle yet playful touch.
Just then, strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me out of my reverie. I spun around, startled, and was met with a surprise that left me breathless. Sultan stood before me, his eyes sparkling with warmth. I was shocked, stunned, and confused, unable to believe he was still there, that he hadn't left me this time.
"Why didn't you wake me up so we could shower together?" He asked, his arms tightening around my waist. I stood there, speechless, my mind struggling to believe this was real.
"Sultan," I whispered, blinking away tears as a smile spread across my face. I wished with all my heart that this wasn't a dream. And it wasn't – he was really there.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" he asked again, a smirk playing on his lips. I swallowed hard, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I... I thought you left." Sultan's expression softened as he tucked my wet hair behind my ears. His eyes locked onto mine, and I felt like I was drowning in their depths.
"I'm sorry Lani," he whispered, his thumb tracing my wet lips. "I promise never to leave like that again." Millions of butterflies danced in my stomach as I heard his words. In that moment, I felt special for the first time, I felt like he wanted me more than I wanted him. And that realization filled me with happiness.

"You mean he stayed in bed with you all night?" Bella asked, referencing Sultan's uncharacteristic behavior and I nodded enthusiastically."Yeah, we even took a shower together and had breakfast as a couple. I'm on cloud nine!"
"Shocking," Bella said, and I laughed in agreement. Then I suddenly remembered something.
"Oh, and guess what? I finally met your man!" Bella's face lit up with a shy smile.
"What about him?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"He's super cool and good-looking. He came to pick Sultan to work this morning." I complimented. "
"Stop, you're making me super shy right now," she said, giggling. And I smiled, happy to see Bella so in love after her past heartbreaks.
"Gabby seems like a great guy, nothing like your ex-boyfriends." She nodded in agreement.
"I see that too," she agreed. "Um, Milani, I just remembered - is Sultan aware that you're pregnant?" Bella asked.
"Yeah, but I don't think I'll be able to convince him it's a mysterious baby," I replied, chuckling.
"Why not?" she asked, curiosity etched on her face.
"I don't know. It's just too unbelievable." Bella nodded thoughtfully.
"Since you two are... closer now, I think he needs to know the truth."
"Bella, we're not together." I corrected her and shrugged.
"You're not fighting anymore, that's a start. But seriously, how do you plan to keep this from him? It's not like your baby will remain a secret forever." I sighed, knowing she was right.
"I don't know... because how do he believe my baby came from nowhere? I better not tell him Bella." We chatted some more, discussing my upcoming antenatal appointment and the progress on the restaurant establishment.
