Wrong Injection

CHAPTER 18

I walked into a hospital to consult a doctor and also ran a pregnancy test to prove mom that I wasn't pregnant. Since she was certain I was, I needed a prove to get a break from her and her negative thoughts.

I got to the front desk of the hospital with the intention of saying hello to Bella before going to see Dr Jones, but she wasn't at her station. So I greeted the lady nurse who was present. "Good morning."

"Good morning, how may I help you please?"

"Uh can you please tell Bella Ringo a friend is here to see her?" I said smiling as I look around for her.

"I'm sorry she doesn't work with us anymore, she resigned a week ago." She said and I drew my eyebrows together.

"What? Resigned?" I was shock to know she resigned and didn't bother to tell me about it, because we literally speak everyday.

"Yes ma'am."

"Alright thanks." I said walking away to Dr Jones office wondering what was the reason for her resignation and why she didn't bother to tell me. "Hello Dr." I greeted him as soon as I got into his office and he was glad to see me as alway.

"Hello Milani, how are you and how is your yeast infection?" He asked immediately I sat down.

"I'm good, I'm okay." I said smiling.

"Alright may I know why you here then?" He asked.

"Well um.. doctor I've been feeling weak, tired, sleepy and also been throwing up for sometime now, I literally get depressed over little things that does not matter and I find it a little weird yeah." I said to him and he stayed quiet for some moment as he stared at me.

"Do you have cravings?" Was the first question he asked after long staring at me.

"Yeah I do, literally strawberries is not a fruit I love so much. But lately I eat it every single day, even late at night I eat strawberries, it is now my favorite." I said smiling and took some out of my backpack and showed it to him and he smiled and nodded.

"Milani, you are pregnant." And just like that he said I was pregnant and I looked at him with wide eyes.

"No I'm not?" I scoffed. "I'm sorry I'm not pregnant, honestly I've never had sex neither do I have a boyfriend. There's no away I am pregnant." I said confidently.

"But you're showing symptoms of pregnancy, I am a doctor and I can tell that by just Looking at you right now. You are pregnant." He insisted and I raked my fingers through my curly hair feeling frustrated and confused.

"But a doctor can also be wrong when he hasn't run a test on me yet." I protested as I couldn't believe he think he could tell I was pregnant without running a test on me. "I will like to take a virginity and a pregnancy test, just so you can confirm please." I said and he nodded.

"As you wish." I nodded and he guided me out to a lab technician where my blood sample was taken for the test.

Shortly after, I came back into the doctor's office impatiently waiting for the results, though I was a virgin and was certain I wasn't pregnant, I was a bit nervous. There was nothing to be worried about yet I felt anxious when Dr Jones walked into the office with the result letters. I gulped and watched in fear as he opened up the result letter.
