Tyler licked his lips as he looked up at the apartment building. He took a heavy gulp as he watched a figure pass the large window and closed the curtains. It was his moment as he crept out with flowers in his hands and a heavy object in his inner jacket pocket of his coat.
As he stepped out, he looked both ways before crossing the road and flipping on his hat. He tried to smile, he hates smiling, it shows vulnerability. But none the less, if this is going to work, he had to break his jaw to smile as wide as possible.
He pressed the buzzer at the front entrance, the name beside it, Josh Dun. "Yes?" a static voice broke through. Tyler cleared his throat and looked around.
"A telegram and flowers for Josh Dun," Tyler spoke through. It was silent for a second before a buzzer went off and Tyler stepped through. He made his way up the stairs before facing the right door, C5. He knocked a few times before the door opened to a short petite boy.
Tyler's eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at the innocent boy, "Josh Dun?" he asked. The boy nodded, his hands instantly reaching up to his mouth and biting on his pointer nail. He shifted back and forth, the huge sweater reaching down to his thigh and socks with little fluffies around his ankle.
His brown curls were as if he had just come out of bed, and fuck he actually was so beautiful. It made Tyler's chest twist and look utterly confused as Josh's hands disappeared behind him. "Are those for me?" he asked, pointing at them before they disappeared again behind him.
Tyler cleared his throat, "I- uh- yeah. Here you go," Tyler whispered and leaned the flowers forwards. Josh grabbed at them, sniffing in the sweet dewy smell of the roses, his cheeks blistering the same color and letting out a blissed sigh.
He looked around them, face contorting, "No name? How can you do the telegram without a name?" Tyler just shrugged as he was stabbed by the big doe eyes that Josh held. He frowned again, turning on his heels and walking to the kitchen. "Follow," his sweet voice rang and Tyler stepped through.
He raked his eyes over the boy that was much shorter, the sweater covering him in the right places and not giving Tyler anything. Not that he wanted anything, it was just, he, nevermind. He sat on the stool, hands wringing together.
Josh had his back to him, yet when he turned, Tyler almost fell out of the stool as Josh had a huge knife in his hands. Josh looked up at him, his eyebrows furrowed. "What's wrong mister?" Tyler just let out a relieved laugh. "Don't worry, I'm old enough to carry such dangerous weapons."
Tyler gulped. "What is your name by the way? I invite you into my home, it's basic human decency to know your name."
"Joseph."
Josh flicked his eyes up at him as he cut the stems of the flowers a bit shorter. The slicing sounds tearing through the apartment and Josh giving him a soft innocent smile. "That's awesome. Fits a handsome man like you."
Tyler nodded, clearing his throat. "Uh, I was" Tyler a bit to himself, scanning the array of the apartment. His eyes then fixed on the television, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 paused. "I love Marvel movies," he whispered.
"Yeah, you kind of interrupted mine and Mr. Dixie's movie night." Josh smiled, but then his eyes widened and he looked down, his cheeks flushing red. He turned around, setting the flowers in a new vase filled with water and flower food.
"Get out of here," Tyler smiled. "That's adorable."
He hated his smile, he hated that Josh giggled at him and was wrapping around the counter to be on his left side, away from the heaviness on his right. "You like Marvel movies and like Mr. Dixie." A hand was then on his chest, "You wanna join?"
