The tunnels were dark and lit only with lights in the walls every few feet. "This place still gives me goose bumps," said Berserk.
"At least we know what they want now," said Ashes as held a flashlight in his paw.
"Yeah... They seem a lot less evil if you talk to them," said Inferno.
"I doubt it, that one guy was a dick," said Cross.
"Only to you," replied Inferno.
"Can we focus here for a second?" Asked Ashes to his team. "We need to find the source of this voice, first."
"Okay... This place is a maze though... Should we split up?" Asked Inferno.
"Yeah, Inferno, you're with me," said Ashes.
"I'll take Nul'," said Halo as she grabbed onto Nul's arm and dragged him down the tunnels.
"Meet back at the entrance in two hours, got it?" Asked Ashes down the tunnel the two left.
"Da, we will," said Nul'.
"Alright, let's get going," said Ashes. Him and Inferno went down a separate tunnel leaving Cross and Berserk to look in the other tunnel.
"So... Ashes... You have any idea how to find him?" Asked Inferno to Ashes.
"No... So, what did you and the tiger talk about back there?" Asked Ashes as he swept back and forth with his flashlight.
"Just some stuff, trying to get to know why they're doing it... To be honest, they don't sound like they're completely evil."
"After everything they've done?"
"I know, I know... But if what she said was true then... Maybe we're on the wrong side?"
"You mean that we're the bad guys and people who attacked and blew up a politician in a suburban area and caused the deaths of dozens of officers and civilians are the good guys in this whole thing?"
"Never said they're perfect. It's just that... She told me how she used to be a slave."
"So, we were right about that."
"Yeah, and she didn't want to fight us. She knew that if we actually tried to work out our differences we might be able to."
"I hate to say that I agree with you... but Silence didn't exactly come off as the terrorist that he was made out to be. Only a little crazy."
"Yeah... Plus those two are dating."
"Really?"
"Yeah, and I asked her for some advice on something."
"Like what?"
"You'll know later."
"That slightly terrifies me... But we need to stay focused. We have to go with the plan and... hold it." The two stopped in the dark tunnel with Ashes's flashlight pointed into a small room off to the side. The room had a dim light coming from it and what smelled of waterlogged books. The two slowly entered to find a few books in the corner, a few worn and torn sheets of fabric piled in another corner, and a candle lit laying next to the door.
"Someone lives down here?" Asked Ashes.
"Something... Just a question of what," said Inferno as she looked around the place. "Maybe the source of the voice. It makes sense."
"Who... Are you...?" Asked a voice. The two turned around to see a large figure highlighted by the dim light. It looked like an Anthro, but with dark fur covering it's entire body. Three pairs of red eyes were seen in the darkness, staring at both of them.
