It was later at night in a large city as Data and Werlan sat in the RV tucked away into the alleyway. The two were sitting at the dining table preparing for a raid on a lab. Data had hacked into the cameras and was looking through them to observe movement as Werlan prepared the weapons and armor. "You sure that this is the right place?" Asked Werlan as he looked up across the table at him.
"Unmarked vans, disappearing Anthros, FID members coming in and out, and I see scientists through the cameras. All inside of a police station? If it's not a lab it's something interesting enough," said Data, his eyes glued to his computer.
"Right, so we got about eight operatives in the city coming to help us so let's do this right..." said Werlan as he polished his pistol.
"What's wrong?" Asked Data as his eyes looked up at him.
"Well... You're gonna hate me for saying this," stated Werlan
"Just tell me already," said Data with annoyance in his voice.
"I don't want you to do this," blurted Werlan.
"Why?" Inquired Data.
"You're the one that knows this genetic engineer, you can talk to her and get her to help you with this hybrid idea, I don't have that connection, eh. You die everything goes to shit, I die, nothing truly changes. That's how it is, eh. So, I'm sorry that I want to keep the possibility open to it but we need you alive," said Werlan as he went back to polishing.
"Your colony accent is slipping. And I get it, shit happens. I die, things fuck up, and we could lose it... But you can't go in there alone. You can't go in there without me to watch your back. We've faces serial killers," said Data as he closed the computer.
"Killer," corrected Werlan.
"Fine, just one. We gunned down FID," said Data.
"I remember killing them and you just shocked the one that was holding you hostage," said Werlan as his eyes darted to him
"Fine... You protected me from an explosion," said Data after some thought.
"Yeah, I'll give you that one, eh," admitted Werlan.
There was a knock on the door and the two froze.
"It's not time yet," said Data.
"Get behind me," said Werlan as he grabbed his pistol, keeping it holstered behind his back. He walked to the door as Data took cover in the driver's cab. Werlan opened the door and looked at who was there.
It was a female Anthro artic hare. She had grey fur covering her entire body with a short grey and white tail coming from the back of her hips. She had a snout for a mouth with a black nose at the end with two crystal blue eyes above it. On the top of her head was a pair of large grey ears that flopped down to her shoulders. She had on a navy-blue track suit with white lines running up the side of it. A pair of white sneakers were on her feat and a navy-blue back pack was on her back. She had a water bottle held in her hands that she had just pulled away as Werlan opened the door.
"Um... Can I help you?" Asked Werlan keeping his paw on his pistol.
"Yeah, I'm a little lost, eh," said the rabbit. "Came down from the colony and just got lost, eh."
"Oh, another one, eh?" Asked Werlan with a weak smile.
"You cover it up well eh. Anyways, aboot what I was saying," said the rabbit as she pulled out a map. "I'm a little lost, can you tell me where I am?" Werlan looked at the map taking in the entire map of the country with major cities and roads on it.
