It was the next day as Detective Dergon was at the Federal Investigation Department Head Quarters in Newlanding. The air around the building was somber and dark as two of the walls of the two‑story lobby was filled with pictures of the dead agents lost during the attack. Samsul steadied his nerves and walked by them, trying not to cry but only failing at holding back the tears. He walked quickly to the forensics lab, drying his eyes before entering. "Oh... Detective Dergon," said one of the workers. "About the mansion case."

"Yes, any info?" Asked Samsul somberly. "Two things. One, we found remains of creates of Cardactimine, we're looking through cellphone records to find any other possible dealers."

"Good... and the other?"

"We were able to recover a small amount of footage from a destroyed camera. We got a seventy-five percent match from the camera on one of the attackers. Major Tendro Aerdon. Worked in the army in grenadier work, we're trying to talk to his former CO about what he did during the time there."

"Dealt with explosives though."

"Most likely. He was discharged after..."

"Doesn't matter. I know why. Where was his last known location?"

"Well... That's the issue... He was found in a number of homeless shelters around Gingdale."

"Ground zero... Alright... We'll scour the unaffected area around the quarantine zone. I'll go make the call for it." Samsul stepped out of the room and outside of the building. He pulled out his phone and called a number of agents about searching homeless shelters around the area.

"Alright, now just..." said Samsul as he got to Ashes's number.

"Detective Dergon?" Asked a voice. Samsul looked over and saw a female Sinderlo walking up to him. She had long silver hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a blue dress, a black suit jacket, a pair of black shoes, and a black holster on her hip. She had a FID badge on her jacket lapel.

"Can I help you?" Asked Samsul as he put his phone away.

"Detective Elwin Mercar," said the Sinderlo as she extended her hand to him. "I've been assigned to help you in the investigation on the attack."

"Oh, um... Yes... I'm sorry I didn't receive a notification about such," said Samsul as he shook her hand.

"It was sudden for me too," said Elwin as she brushed some of her hair out of her face. "You called everyone about the lead?"

"Yes, I just... Just wanted to step out for some air really quick," said Samsul as he pulled his hand away.

"You don't have to lie to me... I get it. The place is a lot somber as of late after the significant loss."

"Yeah... We should get going and head to the search area."

"Right, I got a car parked right up front. We can take that." The two walked up and got into a black sports car, driving away and towards the quarantine zone. "So, Samsul... Can I ask you something?" Asked Elwin as she looked over at him.

"You just did," said Samsul as he returned the look. "Might as well ask another."

"O-Okay... There's been rumors of you being nice to Anthros... Why?"

"Because they're living beings like us."

"Right, I get that. I mean, I'm not cruel to them either for no reason but... It'd be easier for us to be cruel to them."

"I know, but easy isn't always right."

"Right, but..."

"Listen, if you're going to criticize me all this time I'm putting in for a change in partners."

"R-Right. Sorry." The two drove onto the cite as Samsul sent Ashes a text with the information.
