It was a quiet afternoon as Silval Hungo was in a coffee shop, drinking a small glass of water and looking at her map and notebook full of details. In the corner of the notebook was the pamphlet she had gotten from Werlan. He's not my type anyways, thought Silval to herself as she drew a route with her pencil. She looked out the window next to her to see rain coming down in a storm. The second it lets up I'll be going, thought Silval.

She heard the door open as she looked back in her notebook, catching a small look at herself in her phones screen before she turned it back on to see the GPS. Her grey fur covering her entire body with a short grey and white tail coming from the back of her hips. She had a snout for a mouth with a black nose at the end with two crystal blue eyes above it. On the top of her head was a pair of large grey ears that flopped down to her shoulders. Her navy-blue and white track suit fit well over her as her matching back pack sat next to her. She heard the set across from her move and she looked up.

Across from her now sat a male Anthro rat. He had brown fur covering all of his body, covered by a khaki trench coat, a white polo shirt, a pair of blue jeans, a pair of brown gloves, and a pair of brown boots. He had a snout for a mouth with a red nose at the end. He had claws on his hands and feet. He had a long, fur less tail coming from the back of his hips that was through the bottom of his coat. He had a pair of gold eyes and pointed ears on the top of his head that was covered by brown cap.

"Can I help you?" Asked Silval, cautiously reaching for her pocket knife in her coat pocket.

"Actually, yes," said the rat as he slowly exposed the barrel of a pistol from underneath his jacket. Silval looked down at it and then back up to him.

"I'm Carterdion Derselo. I'm a private investigator that was asked by the police to track some... unusual footprints."

"Unusual? Listen, I don't know where I fit into all of this and I think you got the wrong person," said Silval.

"No, I don't. I was asked to help with the investigation of a number of speeding blurs going by security cameras, police dash cams, all of that," said Carterdion.

"Okay... And this has to do with me because...?" Asked Silval.

"Well, across multiple cities, miles apart, they were the same footsteps. I didn't figure it out until I considered the possibility of another mutated. You see, my eyes were altered after that shock wave. I can see still, but I can see footprints too," said Carterdion.

"Listen, if you want to talk detective then find someone else, otherwise I'm screaming," stated Silval.

"Fine, I'll get to the point. Those footprints are all the same, and lead up to you. Meaning that you're the person leaving all of them, and they all link up all over those cities... Meaning you're also mutated," said Carterdion. "Listen, I need your help."

"So, you threatening me for it, eh?" Asked Silval.

"Kinda, I need your help to find the Gene Force. I can tell the police it's just old foot print and some kind of speck of dust coming across the cameras. Nothing they haven't heard before. Also..."

"Oh my gosh," said Silval as she pointed at the TV screen. The TV showed the news where the courthouse was seen where the Gene Force was being wheeled out of the room and into an ambulance. White sheets were over them but blood was clearly coming from the sheets.

"Oh shit," said Carterdion as he quickly holstered his pistol. "We need to..."

"Get them and go, yeah, on it already," said Silval as she packed her stuff into her bag in a rapid blur of motion and then threw the bag on her back.
