It was a normal day in Gingdale in the United Republic as Ceves Sadir was working in the garage. Ceves was a male anthropomorphic lion with short tan fur covering all of his body, with a thick black mane around his neck and top of his head. He had pointed ears on the top of his head extending from underneath the black mane. His mouth and nose were a muzzle below his brown eyes that were dug into his skull. He had a long tail coming from the back of his hips that was covered with tan fur and had a ball black fur at the end of it. He had claws on his hand and feet as well. He was wearing a blue mechanic's jumpsuit with his name sewed onto the right side of the upper chest, a pair of black gloves, a pair of black boots, and a welding mask over his face.
"Hey, Ceves," said a voice. Ceves rolled out from under a car to see his boss at the office door with the phone in his hand. His boss was also an Anthropomorphic lion like him except with red fur for his mane and stood a few feet taller than him. "Yeah, what's up Conder?" Asked Ceves.
"Got a call from a Detective Derselo for ya'," said the lion.
"Oh yeah, hold on," said Ceves as he got up from the ground. He walked over and took the it from him, Conder walking away towards the car so he could have some privacy.
"Yeah, I'm here," said Ceves, putting the phone to his ear.
"Alright, turns out the guy you wanted me to find is actually in Alexja City," said a voice on the other side of the line. "Took longer than I expected though, elusive asshole I'll give 'em that."
"Right, I'll transfer the last half of the payment later after you e-mail me the details," said Ceves.
"Yeah, yeah. I know the drill. I know this isn't quite my professional standards but I gotta ask. Why do you care about this guy so much?" Inquired the voice.
"Just call it, unfinished business. Guy made me a promise and I want him to follow through on it. I gotta get back to work, I'll be waiting for that e-mail."
"It's already sent with some info. I'll be waiting for the money for the rest."
"Yeah, yeah. I got the deal. Bye."
"See ya' 'round. And if this is bad and you get caught... We never talked."
"Hey, Anthro's gotta watch and Anthro's back. I'm not snitching. See ya."
"See ya'," said the voice. Ceves hung up the phone and walked back to the car where Conder was. "Look at this beauty," said Ceves. "Too bad it belongs to an Sinderlo." The car was a black sleek car with leather inside and a chrome highlight on the outside.
"What'd you expect from a high value car that happen to have been in a head-on collision?" Inquired Conder. "So, who was that?"
"Oh, just a guy I asked to help me find someone," stated Ceves.
"Him again?"
"What? He made a promise that I want him to keep."
"Like you held up your end?" Asked Conder as he crossed his arm, judging Ceves with his eyes.
"I'm gonna do it," stated Ceves as he crossed his arm as well.
"Yeah, right," said Conder throwing a paw down at Ceves.
"Conder, you and I were the only two to graduate from that school in fifty years. Everyone else disappeared. First your class, then mine, then everyone disappeared. Alright, he left at the fifth grade and we never heard from each other again. Finding out that he's still alive is important enough... unlike the others," said Ceves. His eyes turned flat and his eyes shot to the ground. He started to rub his arm with his other paw, trying to shake off a chill running up his back.
