It was dark as Samsul and Elwin were pulling into a gravel driveway of a small home in the countryside. The house had torn and worn grey metal siding behind a rusted metal fence. The mailbox was worn but still upright. The windows were dim and the lawn was still freshly cut. "We're here," said Samsul as he parked the car.

"So, we're supposed to find someone that will help us with the FAR recruitment? How?" Asked Elwin.

"It'll make sense in a bit," said Samsul as he checked his phone.

"Okay, but who's here and what are you doing?" Asked Elwin as she looked at his string of text messages.

"I'm just texting a friend. As for who lives here... Well... My parents," said Samsul.

"Your parents? Couldn't they just move to the cities due to the Hierarchy Act? I mean, surely some Anthros could've been kicked out of the city and be living here," said Elwin with a confused look.

"No, they couldn't," said Samsul as he got out of the car.

"Wait, what?" Asked Elwin as she got out of the car, following him. They walked up to the rustic screen door and rang the doorbell.

"The act states Sinderlos are allowed to move into structurally sound areas and force out Anthros when allowed. This is clearly not structurally sound and..." said Elwin to Samsul. The door opened to show an Anthro couple, a male and female Bangle Tigers. They were wearing tattered and dirty clothes, and looked older.

"Oh, um, hi," said Elwin with a small fake smile.

"Hi mom, hi dad," said Samsul shyly.

"Samsul, how are you!" Exclaimed the male tiger, opening the door. "Please, c'mon in."

"Thank you," said Samsul as he walked in with Elwin behind him.

"Oh, um, wow. You didn't mention your parents were... Um... I'm sorry but exactly how does that work?" Asked Elwin.

"How Anthros can raise a Sinderlo? Adoption," said the female tiger. "You two want anything to drink?"

"No thanks mom... Actually, we wanted to ask you something," said Samsul as he sat down on the couch. "We... Need you to infiltrate the FAR recruiting process. We suspect that they're behind the recent terror attacks and that they're planning more. We need you to go there and report back as to what their process is like and what exactly their motive is... We can't get any idea about anything they're doing anyways... That's why I'm asking you."

"Sam... Y-You're asking us to...?" Asked Mrs. Dergon.

"I know! I know... I'm sorry, it's just that we have no other options before another attack," said Samsul.

"Um... excuse me for a second," said Elwin as she ducked into the bathroom. She locked the door and pulled out her cellphone, pressing a few buttons on it.

"What are you hiding now Samsul," said Elwin as she hacked into his cellphone. She looked through his phone and found his text to a number known as 'Ashes.' The texts talked about a number of things relating to the terror attacks, criminal activity, and lab results for cases.

He's helping them, just as he thought. Now who's behind the name? Thought Elwin to herself. She searched the number through a government database and got a hit off of a credit card tied to a name.

Theon Murton. I should've known, thought Elwin to herself after seeing a picture of Theon. She texted a number the information and then flushed the toilet, keeping her cover. She quickly received a response to the text from someone known as 'Highland.'

"Agent," read the text. "We know of the location of the terrorists and we're sending agents in to stop them with the help of the Gene Force. Project Omega is almost ready and the test subjects have been identified. Stand by for new orders." Elwin put her phone away and she headed back into the room where Samsul was still talking to his parents.

"Sam, we built our lives here, we raised you here," said Mr. Dergon as he looked to the ground. "We have crops to pick, bills to pay, the house to take care of... We can't just leave."

"I'll pay the bills, I'll take care of the crops, I-I'll get you an apartment in a town or something! I... We need you to do this... The entire country needs you to do this. To save a number of lives," said Samsul as he sat in his chair, looking at him.

"We can't ask you for that Sam..." said Mr. Dergon. "We..."

"Please, we know you have a lot here, and we get that it'll be hard to get up and leave but we're not talking about leaving permanently. A month at max and all we need to know is just some general information. We'll give you a phone to call us and we'll compensate you for everything... We understand if things don't seem the best for you but we're talking about the greater good here and all for what? Basically, a vacation, granted a questionable one, but still a way to get away from here for a bit," said Elwin. "Please, we're begging you."

"...Can we have a second to talk about it? Alone," said Mrs. Dergon.

"Yes, excuse us," said Samsul. Elwin and him walked on the creaking floor and outside, waiting by the car.

"So, you were adopted?" Asked Elwin to Samsul.

"Yeah, I was left on their doorstep. Don't know what my birth parents were thinking, since Anthro and Sinderlo and all of that but... Yeah, I am. I grew up knowing all of the stuff Anthros go through. All the hatred, anger, evil, all of that. I was treated differently from Anthros and Sinderlos. Like I was a thing between both worlds... I got into a lot of fights back then. None of them started by me," said Samsul, keeping his eyes at the ground. "So yeah. That's why I'm sympathetic to Anthros, because I know what they go through daily."

"I see..." said Elwin. A few moments of silence went by between them. Samsul kept his eyes at the ground while Elwin's darted around.

"I lived next door to an Anthro family when I was younger," said Elwin suddenly. "We were in an apartment complex, didn't have the best things in life so we ended up in one of those slum houses for a while... They were nice, never too loud but were friendly. I remember one time when they invited us over for dinner. Just a nice gesture. I was like... Five, six? I don't remember exactly. Mom and Dad never did let me go over... I don't remember what they were serving but it smelled so good. I remember smelling it through the walls as we ate some bland food painted gold with food coloring or whatever. I always wanted to go over and talk to the kids there but my parents never let me... One day they just disappeared."

"What happened to them?" Asked Samsul as he looked over at her.

"I... I don't know," said Elwin looking at the ground. "They just left. I tried to figure out then and I still guess I want to find out someday. I just hope they found someplace better."

"Somehow I doubt that, but I hope so too," said Samsul with a fake smile.

"Yeah, I hate to say so too," said Elwin with a sigh. The door opened and Mr. and Mrs. Dergon walked outside.

"We'll do it, on one condition," said Mr. Dergon with his arms crossed.

"What?" Asked Elwin.

"We want a place in the city, and fifty thousand dollars... We want to leave the farm and start living," said Mr. Dergon.

"I think that can be arranged," said Elwin as she pulled out her phone. "Let me just make a few calls to make it happen."

"Okay," said Mrs. Dergon.

"Thanks guys," said Samsul with a smile. "Let's go inside and we can discuss what you need to do." The three headed inside and started to plan what they needed to do.
