It was afternoon as Samsul Dergon was arriving at the bank in Leap City. Samsul was a Sinderlo FID detective that was assigned to the case of the Gene Force. He had bright green skin, brown eyes that closed sideways, long white platinum hair with black streaks in it, a sharply pointed nose and large ears, and stood a slightly taller than all the other Sinderlos. He was wearing a black two-piece suit with his badge pinned to his jacket. An M1911 was holstered on his hip next to a pair of handcuffs.

The bank had turned into a media circus with news reporters and civilians flocking to the scene in masses as FID barricades and agents holding them back. Samsul showed his badge to the agents at the barricade and they let him through, the police chief catching up to him.

"Alright, what do we got?" Asked Samsul to the chief as he walked towards the bank.

"Bank robbery gone wrong and turned into a hostage situation," said the police chief.

"Okay, so why's the media juggling this like is the newest hot scandal?" Asked Samsul as he walked past a chalk outline in front of the bank.

"It was stopped by a group of Anthros with superpowers," said the police chief.

"Funny, now seriously," said Samsul as he pulled out a cigarette and lit it.

"I was."

"Super powers? I hate to inform you that this isn't a comic book, cartoon, movie, or nicely written story by some unknown guy on the internet. Alright. This is real."

"Witnesses and camera footage support our claims."

"Then why am I here again?"

"You're the best Anthro hunter in the world. No matter where they hide or what they do you always find them and arrest them the second they commit a crime."

"Well it'd be a lot more fun and interesting if they didn't need a five-page permission slip just to breath. But... I guess vigilantism is a crime, isn't it? So, do we know numbers, weapons, accents, anything?"

"We know of five, their organization is known as the Gene Force, two known names of Cross and Halo. Also, super powers. Their sniper has some kind of... liquid manipulation where he can create ice out of thin air and teleport by turning himself into a puddle. Also the hostages said that Cross took a bullet through the skull and got back up a second later along with running into gun fire and just walking it off. Halo has some kind of teleportation. Judging by the security cameras and the evidence at the vault suggest that the other two have some kind of fire abilities and can create explosions."

"Alright everyone," announced Samsul to the police officers and recovering hostages. "First order of business, drug tests on everyone because all of this sounds fucking bullshit crazy. Secondly, show me the vault room."

"Yes sir," said an FID agent. They took him down the side stairs, past a number of other chalk outlines, and into the vault room. The camera was destroyed in the corner and the large hole was visible.

"Well then... so the robbers didn't do that... The Gene Force did..." said Samsul as he ran his finger over the cleanly cut hole in the vault.

"Yes sir," said a FID agent as he stood vigilant. Samsul took out forensics kits to examine the area for DNA or paw prints. "So, let's see... Anthro's already confirmed... sadly..." muttered Samsul.

"Well with those useless furs deserve to be taken out back and shot," said the police chief with a laugh.

"Pretty sure they did something that your guys couldn't do so... Don't know if shooting them is the best idea," said Samsul as he walked towards the stairs, nearly pushing the chief out of the way. "Now then... If you had the front covered how'd they get in?" He walked up the stairs and onto the first floor. He looked around all of the door entrances and found the kicked in door.

"Ah... So, this is it," said Samsul as he dusted it. The black print showed the front of a boot mark on the door near the handle. "So, they knew what they were doing..." said Samsul.

"Do you know what kind of boot it is?" Asked the chief.

"Yes. Model ninety, size thirteen, made of a durable rubber," said Samsul as he took a ruler to the print.

"Who would have access to this? Surely, it's quite expensive."

"Do you have fifty dollars saved up?"

"Um... Yeah..."

"Then you could get a pair. They're cheap, common, and the material is standard for this model. Nothing new. The foot size would mean they're around eighty-six inches tall. So, I don't know fully anything else about them."

"So, you mean to tell me..."

"I've not given up yet. I simply just haven't had any idea about who they are. I need to talk to the witnesses."

"O-Okay..." Samsul walked over to the ambulance parked at the front that was taking care of the hostages. "Hello, I'm Detective Samsul Dergon. I have a few questions for you," said Samsul.

"Y-Yes," said the mother rocking her baby.

"Now, about your rescuers. Did you notice anything unusual about them other than their abilities and weapons?" Asked Samsul.

"N-No. I mean, that's just about it. They had super powers and guns."

"Why kind of guns?"

"Um... Like assault rifles and pistols and grenades like you see in the movies."

"Uh hun... I see now... Were they wearing body armor? Vests, helmets, goggles?"

"Yeah... Yeah, all of that stuff."

"I see now... Very well then, thank you. Please just write down your name, number, and address so if I need to contact you I can," said Samsul as he passed around a pen and paper.

"Do you know who it is?" Asked the chief.

"Yes, I have a hunch but nothing confirmed as of yet. I'll be headed out that way in a few moments."

"You're just going to drive?"

"It's not that far. Nothing too much to worry about," said Samsul as he took back the pen and paper. "I'll be on my way... If you need me, just call the Federal Investigation Department." Samsul walked back into his car and drove off towards the highway. "So then... It has to be him... It can't be anyone else," said Samsul as he turned on the radio.

"In recent news," said the radio announcer. "Collar laws have passed through lower house courts and are moving up towards higher house and Emperor Quenbeclar Zenchardo. Local Anthros protested the idea but we quickly dissuaded by armed law enforcement."

"They called a SWAT team on some peaceful protesters dumbass," said Samsul to the voice on the radio.

"In other news, a new organization known only as the Gene Force has surfaced today. They arrived in Leap City this morning and brutally killed a number of armed robbers without giving them a chance to surrender peacefully. The group then fled from police after proclaiming their name. The hostages are still traumatized by their actions and a bounty has been placed on their heads. If you have any information please call..."

"They were traumatized from the robbers, not the Gene Force," said Samsul as he drove off onto the road. "Dumb bitch. And fuck the Emperor. Guy's an ass anyways." Samsul changed the radio to the classical music station and listened to that as he drove.
