It had been a week since the attack on the mansion as Ceves was at work outside near the edge of the town. He had made a large metal tower with copper wires wrapped around it tightly. The tower was 30 feet up in the air and was surrounded by a larger metal cage from all sides and above it. There was a series of wires running from the cage to a power transformer and then into the town.
"Alright, that'll do it," said Ceves as he finished welding the last wire to the cage. He was wearing a black tee-shirt, a pair of blue jeans, a pair of black gloves, a pair of black boots, and his welder's mask over his face. His torso was no longer bandaged up and his wounds had been healed.
"So, you got what I need to do?" Asked Data as he walked by.
"Yep. All set," said Ceves as he lifted his welding mask up to see him. "Just charge the tower with electricity and then we should be good until I can figure out how to turn these things into perpetual energy machines from the air. I just need to read up on those old documents."
"Whatever, as long as I'm not just a battery," said Data. He walked into the cage and walked up to the tower, Ceves keeping his distance from the cage and putting up a plastic safety fence around the area. Data put his hands on a large iron pipe in the center of the tower and shocked it, creating the bright electrical field around it. The tower began to shoot electricity out of the top of it, arcing onto the cage and into the wires, powering the town.
"Alright, got it," said Data as he walked out of the cage.
"Good, it should be like that for a while," said Ceves, marveling at his work.
"Well, Werlan's got a few good drill sergeants trained up and I got a few leads on a few places that could have collar labs. We'll be headed out soon."
"Alright then, you know the plan."
"I know, I know. Calm your twisted little brain."
"HEY GUYS!" Yelled out Certainia. The two looked over to see her ridding atop of one of a convoy of tanks similar to the one they found in the storage locker.
"FACTORY'S BUSY HUN?" Asked Ceves over the distance and the noise of the tanks.
"HEY, RUNNING IT'S BEEN HELL BUT I'VE HAD MY FUN! SEE YOU LATER TONIGHT?"
"YOU KNOW IT!" She rode off with the rest and Ceves kept putting up the fence.
"So, you too been together hun?" Asked Data.
"A little bit. After my feelings for her got out, not by my fault, we talked for a bit and well we've been seeing each other. So, what?"
"Nothing, just surprised that the crazy one can find love and I can't."
"Yeah, well, helps if the other one's crazy too. But what can I say? So, you guys taking off soon?"
"Yeah, tomorrow. I have a few guesses as to cities that have them so we're headed to those first. Yes, we know about what to do after that."
"Speaking of which," said Werlan as he walked over to the group. "We need to consider a route first that won't draw suspicion and will have low resistant forces."
"Now you want to be sneaky. Now. Wow," said Data sarcastically. "Listen, Cev, we'll chat later. Gotta take care of this."
"We will. Remember, both of you are Helix Division members now," said Ceves as he pointed a finger at them.
"Yeah, so don't be too much of an asshole, we know," said Werlan. The two left as Ceves headed back into the town. He saw Anthros building up their houses from the ruined buildings and shops. Trucks loaded with freed slaves were offloaded hourly as Free Anthro Republic soldiers drove them, guns still warm from their missions. Others were unloaded from trucks that came from cities, all over via an underground system.
