I just stood there as she stomped away. Where was she going? Could she be going back to that abandoned shack? I had visited with a few animals.

"Matsu?" Shadow asked opening the door slightly.

"Yes daughter?" I noticed her blush and smiled.

"Can you come inside, we need to talk about the thing?" She said and I walked inside the house.

"You let him inside?" My mother screamed at Shadow.

"You leave my daughter alone." I yelled at my mother.

"Last time I checked, she was my daughter. You are just a biological nuisance." My mother yelled at me.

"If I was a biological nuisance then you would have killed me when I was born." That's when I noticed Shadow and my father sitting quietly in a corner alone.

My father had learned my true identity when my parents left the hospital but my mother made him swear not to kill me. My mother remained quiet after that comment.

"Hello father." I said and looked him in the eyes.

"Hello son." He said while looking up to meet my gaze.

"You know it's been a long while. Shadow, can you come here?" I said and noticed the awkward glances passing between them.

"It has been a long time." Said my father as my daughter stood up.

"I wish you would know the truth and not the crap mom tells you." I said and noticed his glare.

"I could have you executed and you continue to bad mouth your mother." My father said, his voice raising. Now Shadow was by my side.

"What is it papa?" She said and my heart melted. She hasn't called me papa since that night.

"I'll explain in a moment after I finish telling them."

"What do you need to tell us?" My mother said completely ignoring my fathers angered expression.

"I only wish to tell you that Shadow is coming to live with me." I said and suddenly the protest began.

"Shadow is my daughter!"

"Shadow is not going to live with you!"

"My baby is not leaving this house!"

"You can't take her away!"

And I'd rather not listen to the string of swear words that followed. "Shut up!" I yelled after many unwritten words were said. I looked down to see Shadow's broken face. Tears fell down her cheeks, her eyes were puffy, and her soul threatened to kill. She needed blood and soon.

"Shadow?" I whispered.

"Yes, papa?" She mumbled.

"Do you want to live with me?" I asked her.

"More than anything." She said and so we left. Although, my mother had a way with words.

"Shadow! If you don't stop and turn around I will kill him and you! Nothing will stop me! Ask your father that!" My mother snarled at my daughter. I turned around and cannot believe what I did next.

I through a rock while keeping Shadow from looking. The rock smacked my mother in her cheek and created a monster. My mother was the one who turned me into a beast and she became one herself. In that moment my mother was overtaken by anger, sadness, and guilt. She had a right to be guilty. She had turned her son into a living breathing monster and felt no regret for me. She was the monster and I will prove it to all of the Tribe of Suronous.

She may have been a warrior, an assassin, and even a horrible mother but none the less. She was a demon. Wait, a demon is to nice to compare her to. She was the Devil.

"Come on mother. You wouldn't ever hurt me." I said and she snarled then gave chase. As I expected she ran after me and I picked up Shadow. I carried her while running away from my own mother. We ran to the Great Hall where the late Cutsamoto would have given a speech but.... The late Cutsamoto had died a while back and they were still looking for a new one.

"Get back here child!" My mother creepishly yelled.

"Leave us alone!" My daughter yelled as she fell limp in my arms. She couldn't possibly be thinking about killing my mother. She didn't have entire control of her soul yet and so she wouldn't be able to kill fully. Her body started tearing again; she wasn't fully recovered from her last time out. Since she hasn't been with her inner beast in a while she won't heal fast enough.

That's when I heard the high pitched voice of a female dying.
