Chapter 26: Stestial's P.O.V

I had fallen asleep during the movie. I woke up to meet Mikal's eyes staring directly at me. "Hey beautiful." He said.

"Hi." I said shyly whilst sitting up.

"You beauty is amplified every time you awake."

"You say that now." I muttered. I then breathed in his face and he recoiled from me.

"What?" He asked thickly as if trying to cover up his disgust.

"You said I was beautiful." I laughed jokingly. He looked offended. "What?" I asked not realizing why he looked so offended.

"Nothing." He said dismissively and gave me a look challenging to ask again. Fine, I'll play your little game.

"What, did I hurt little man's ego?" I said with the cooing voice most people use when talking to babies.

"Actually, no. But," he paused allowing for emphasis. This pause was ticking me off.

"What?!" I snapped.

"But, you did just insult yourself. I'm not allowing my love to believe she is ugly or unwanted."

"Who said anything about unwanted?!" I yelled. I'm sorry but I was unwanted back home. The only one who cared vanished and right now Shadow has her own problems to deal with.

"You have! I've heard you talking with Shadow before and I get this feeling that something's wrong and then you show up looking downcast! Admit it, you feel unwanted!" He snarled every word and they all stung. I didn't feel unwanted when I was with Mikal, at least, recently. Now..., I have no idea.

"I'll be back later. Try to stop me and I'll kill you. Understood." I said it with a low voice and a dark creeping feeling engulfed me.

"Stestial wait-" Mikal began to say but stopped himself when he saw me turn around and walk out. I'm not dealing with him right now.

You should have stayed.

A strange voice said. I don't understand where it came from or who said it but it followed me.

"Who's there?" I questioned blankly. I don't have time for this. I ran from Mikal's house. I'm not remembering anything for the next few hours. I'll go back tomorrow, I never said later meant tonight. Let's go get drunk.

~Three hours later~

"Yo Stes, you got mad dance moves!" Tyler yelled.

"Awe thanks man." I said and continued dancing.

Then I heard someone mutter, "I wonder if she would dance like that on my lap?"

"Watch where you stand." I heard a low growl escape a male's voice.

"Who are you to talk?!" The previous voice asked.

"Hmmm, someone you'd rather not fight." The voice continued with a low growl.

"What could you possibly do?"

"Summon all the ghost in this room to attack your soul." The voice said seriously.

"Ohhh, he can see ghost. I think he's had a little too much to drink." Tyler muttered. I turned to face them. The new comer looked familiar but I couldn't place his face in my mind.

"I will have you know, I'm completely sober and I do intend on taking Stestial back home."

"What are you going to do?!" Tyler asked threateningly. He's such a sweet man, always caring about the ladies.
