Chapter 18: Stestial's P.O.V

Darkness had long since fallen and my home was barely visible. I almost didn't see it except for their strange, almost see-through, and slightly shimmering forms.

"Hurry Stestial." I heard a quiet voice speak and I was confused until I saw who it was.

"Hello brother." I said. My brother was five years older but he got to escape the abuse because he was the Commander. His name is Kato.

"Hey sis." He said happily.

"Get out." I said.

"Why?" He asked.

"Because you left me for dead with those excuses for parents!" I snarled and he smirked. SMIRKED!

"Why do you seen so startled my little sister?" He asked and the way he said little made my blood boil.

"How dare you?!" I asked from shock and fury.

"What ever do you mean?" He questioned and I glared.

"You know what I mean! Now get out!" My voice left no room for argument but he didn't care.

"Oh please, still the same little sister who thinks her big brother won't hurt her." He said dismissively. When we were younger he always defended me from their nightly attacks. He would stay up all night by my side if I asked him to. What happened to him?

"Please, just leave." I finally said with a hurt voice.

"Oh come on, you know you want me to stay." He played and in my heart I wanted him to say. My mind thought of the protection he would offer but my mouth had other ideas.

"No." I said with finality and he walked away.

"Good-bye." He muttered as he left and I turned to face him.

"You know I hate good-byes but here you go with saying them. I wish you knew how much has changed since you left. I haven't seen you in three years but then again...." I trailed off.

"Then again?" He waited for an explanation by the door but my mind went blank at the very thought of him knowing what they did.

"I'm sorry." I said and pushed him out the door before slamming it and then locking it.

"Stes?!" He yelled but I ignored him and curled up into a ball on the ground.

"Stes?! Open up!" My brother's voice was still there when I got up. I'm pretty sure he stayed outside the entire night.

"Go away!" I yelled through the door and I felt tears well up inside of me.

"No!" He said and then a familiar voice from a girl brought me back to reality and caused the tears to start falling.

"Stestial? Can you let me in? I know you know who it is." She spoke softly but high enough to allow me to hear her.

"Come in Shadow." I said and opened the door.

"What happened Stestial? Who are you?" She asked me the first question but the narrowed her eyes at my brother for the second question. I'm sorry but it was pretty funny to see him squirm under her piercing gaze.

"I'll explain everything in a minute but I think he should introduce himself." I said and smirked at my brother, time to extract revenge for leaving me.

"I-I... um... who? I'm... er... bleh." He finished and I busted out laughing.

"So, Bleh?" She asked as if it was his name and I couldn't hide my laughter.
