Chapter 22: Matsu's P.O.V

I watched as they disappeared from view. I knew what Shadow was about to do but I hoped she would snap out of it. Then I saw Mikal flash past me. So, he's going to save the both of them.

"What are you doing?! Why are you just standing there?!" I heard Kato yell.

"There's no way I can save either of them. This is something they must face on their own. Look, Mikal just went to help them. They'll be fine." I said reassuringly.

"Stestial!" He yelled.

"Stestial!" He yelled again but I ignored him.

Mikal started yelling both there names but I didn't care. A little while later Shadow reappeared.

"Hey Shadow, how are the other two?" I asked. Kato just stared around at both of us like we were idiots.

"Um... their a little bit more friendly." She answered and I noticed how uncomfortable she was looking.

"What? Do. You. Mean. By. Friendly." He said each word as if it was a sentence and I found that slightly amusing. He has absolutely no idea what kind of love stops Shadow's beast.

"Well, they might have children soon." I answered for Shadow to save her from an uncomfortable moment.

"THEY WHAT?!" Kato shouted and then ran through the trees to find them.

"Well, I hope he doesn't see what actually happens." I murmured.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Isn't it obvious?" I asked.

"What?" She asked again.

"Mikal and Stestial are going to... you know. Something you didn't know about Mikal or Kato is that they both like you. Hopefully Mikal will give up his feelings on you because of what he's doing with Stestial. Kato may still like you but I don't agree with his motives."

"What motives?" She asked.

"He only likes you because of your looks and lineage. He doesn't know the real you." I said and she nodded.

Kato came back with his face completely red and he looked terrified. "H-help." He was barely able to mange.

"What did you see?" Shadow asked.

"He was on her and then she was on him." He said flustered.

"It's okay Kato. You could be an uncle soon." I said with a slight smirk and he slapped me.

"How dare you?!" He yelled. Shadow was standing a few feet away from us but now she ran full force at Kato.

"Please?!" She grabbed his arm and begged for him not to do anything else. What was she thinking? Then it hit me, if he really did like her then he should listen to her.

"Shadow?" He asked startled and she crumpled to the ground beside him.

"Why?" She asked and started sobbing.

"Shadow I-" but I cut him off.

"I suggest you shut up and never speak to her again." I said and picked her up. I held her close to me, like I would a young child, my child.
