Why did I want to kill her? Something was wrong. I didn't get the feeling of my spirit wanting to be free but something else. Could it be the same creature my grandmother and father possess?
"What's wrong Shadow?" Stestial asked. She looked mad at me but I didn't care.
"Matsu?!" I yelled and he suddenly appeared.
"What's wrong Shadow?!" He asked and saw my inner struggle. "Breathe in and out! We have to go home now!" He yelled and I noticed he looked different from Mikal. Could he actually separate from Mikal.
"How are you without Mikal?"
"I'll explain everything later." He said and helped me to the woods. We kept walking for a few moments until we stepped into a different realm. This place reminds me of the spirit realm but it couldn't be.
"Where are we?" I asked and the battle within me began to calm down.
"We're in the spirit realm." He said and I stared, gawking at him.
"We're where?!"
"We are in the spirit realm." He said slowly.
"How?!"
"That's what I'm going to explain!" He snapped and I gulped.
"Please continue."
"Thank you. Here's how we'll began." He paused to gather his thoughts.
"As you know, we're spirits. We also have something called a beast. Basically that means we get more muscular, stronger, and quicker. This is the gateway to the spirit realm. Where your friend, Stestial lives used to belong to me. That was my house before I met your mother. When we met we lived together in a two story house and we were going to raise you there but she died and you got taken away from me."
"I'm sorry, but how did I get taken away?"
"After we left your mother's body we had to go to live in the woods. Turns out we ended up here. The animals raised you until you were three and then your grandmother found out where we were. She came tearing through the woods after you. When she found us we were luckily not in the spirit realm which is good because we can now live here, hidden. She found us and killed me, well, my flesh and bone. Then she took you away and I woke up inside of a three-year-old boy's head."
"That sounds like fun but still. How do I control my spirit and beast?"
"Let me say this, the beast is in your head. You just have to find her."
"What if I can't?"
"You can."
"No I can't!" I yelled and something shifted. I screamed from the shock and pain. When I opened my eyes I wasn't within the world. I was in a white
expanse that didn't have any beginning or end. Suddenly a loud voice spoke.
"Hey Shadow! Long time no seeing of the outside world! I've been locked within your mind for many years!"
"I'm sorry!" I yelled.
"Your sorries mean nothing to me!" The voice yelled.
"Who are you?!"
"I'm your inner beast! Kooliparie!"
"I'm Shadow."
"I know that. Anyways, I'm going to be free-" but something cut her off because she started snarling.
"Kooliparie, is it?" Matsu?
"Oh, how's Stinger doing?"
"He's perfectly fine actually. I wish I could say the same for you." Matsu what are you talking about. Suddenly everything began to shake and I closed my eyes.
"Shadow? Shadow?" I heard Matsu's voice.
"Yes?" I asked blinking.
"Are you okay?"
"I feel fine. What actually happened?"
"I'm not sure for you but I just had to fight your beast without unleashing Stinger."
"Who's Stinger? I heard Kooliparie say the name but I don't actually remember."
"He's my beast, Kooliparie is your beast. You need to learn to control Kooliparie."
"I don't know how."
"That's okay, just for now though. I just need to help you learn to control your anger."
"Okay." I said trying to stand on shaky legs and then I saw them.
