I sat next to the fire, my hand loosening it's grip on Leo's. Everyone had been dismissed and were making their ways back to their cabins. I stared into the blazing embers of the fire. My parent really hated me huh? They didn't even give a crap if I died. Pathetic. Just plain pathetic. I didn't even care myself anymore. If they didn't want me, I didn't want them. I'd rather go unclaimed all my life than meet the god who hated their own child.
"You okay Rowan?" Leo said softly.
"Fine. Just fine." I said.
"You sure?" Kylie asked.
"Oh yeah. If my parent doesn't care about me, I don't care either."
"Rochelle!" Mr. D called.
"It's ROWAN!" I yelled.
"I don't care. Come here."
I got up sighing and walked over to Mr. D who was standing with Chiron.
"Listen Rowan, we-"
"I know I know, you won't kill me. You'll figure this out, yadda yadda yadda."
Chiron sighed, "Rowan I know this is probably tough on you but we will do anything to solve this for you."
"Chiron, I honestly don't care I-"
"Rowan you don't have to pretend."
"I'm not pretending! If my parent doesn't care for me, then I don't care about them! It's done! I don't care."
"Okay, well we will at least try to figure it out okay?"
"You don't understand! I don't want you to try. It means nothing to me anymore."
I spun around on my heel, without another word and walked back to Leo and Kylie.
"Alright," I said shoving my hands in my sweatshirt pockets, "I'm tired. Let's go to bed."
"What'd they say?" Kylie asked ignoring me.
"They just said they'd keep trying."
"Well that's good," Leo said.
"And I told them not to because I don't care."
"Row," Kylie said putting a hand on my shoulder.
I shrugged it off, "I don't care, honestly. C'mon let's go to bed."
I grabbed Kylie's hand and yanked her towards the Hermes cabin. We reached the cabin when Kylie decided to dig her heels into the ground, refusing to move any further.
"What!?" I exclaimed.
"Well um, you said you would tell me what happened between you and Leo? I didn't think you'd want my brothers to hear. I mean if you want to."
"No, it's fine. I promised."
Kylie smiled, "So?"
I couldn't help but grin, "Well, after you left, Leo took the time to apologize to me. After more discussion, we decided to start over. Pretend nothing happened."
"That's it?" she asked sounding bored.
"Not exactly..."
"C'mon Row! You said you'd tell me everything."
"Well, on our way to campfire, I wanted to go grab a sweatshirt. When I came back out of the cabin, I kind of tripped, fell into his arms and he kissed me."
"HOLY HEPHAESTUS HE KISSED YOU?"
"Still not used to these curses," I muttered.
"DUDE!"
