It's been two days since the serpent attack. Leo still hasn't woken up. That said the trip has been delayed by a lot considering that we didn't know enough about the ship to get it going again. Sure we did some repairs, but Leo was the only one who could do the rest. Therefore, we were still at the docks in Bermuda and we've had to keep paying for dock space.
I was becoming extremely worried. Not just because of Elpis being at risk of being let out, but because of Leo. Two days wasn't that much but it scared me that he wouldn't ever wake up. I spent most of my time at the sickbay watching over him. I've talked to him a bit too hoping he'd hear me, but I guess I'd never know if he did unless he woke up. I almost felt guilty for not helping out with other things. Percy seemed pretty pissed off about it, but Kylie just kept telling me he was stressed out. She said she understood.
I was in the sickbay, like I usually was, organizing the nectar and ambrosia in the back of the room. I had arranged it and disorganized it too many times to count out of anxiety. Finally I told myself that I needed to cut it out. Everything's gonna be alright. I took a deep breath trying to let all of my thoughts slip away. Feeling a bit better, I decided to give Leo some more nectar. I reached out to grab a bottle when I heard the ruffle of sheets behind me. My head snapped around to see Leo moving slightly. I rushed over to his side kneeling next to the bed beside him.
"Leo?" I whispered, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
He stirred a bit before his eyes fluttered open, "Hm?"
I grinned, "Sleeping Beauty awakens."
He laughed softly.
I sighed, "Oh Leo, you scared me to death."
"What?" he asked weakly, "Why?"
"You've been unconscious for about two days now."
Leo's eyes widened, "Really? No, it can't be."
I nodded, "We're still in Bermuda since we can't finish repairs. We've done some, but I guess we don't know enough about the ship to do all of them like you could."
He ran a hand through his mop of hair, sitting up slowly, "Damn it. I need to get them done. How much is there?"
I shrugged, "Other than what you had to do before, the serpent crashed through the deck, the rail is a bit damaged along with some of the oars. Some other little things."
"Damn it," Leo repeated as he swung his legs over the side of the bed.
"Leo, I wouldn't get-"
I was too late, as Leo was already starting to get out of bed. About halfway up, he winced from the pain and lowered himself back down to the bed, "Bad idea," he said.
I let out a short laugh. After a moment I asked, "How are you feeling?"
"Honestly? I feel like crap," he laughed.
"Here," I said walking over to the supply area, "Some more nectar should help."
I grabbed the bottle I was going to give to him earlier and walked back over to his side, this time sitting on the bed. I uncapped the bottle and handed it to him gently. He took a small sip and smiled sadly.
"It tastes like my moms quesadillas..." he said softly.
I sighed, "Is that what's been bothering you?" I asked automatically regretting bringing it up, "You're mom?"
Leo shook his head setting down the bottle, "No, I mean, I guess that's part of it but..."
"Leo, you know you can tell me, " I whispered.
