Chapter 12: I Spend The Night Hidden In The Woods

I scanned the camp anxiously looking for Kylie. She's always hinting about wanting a quest. And I mean like constantly. Stuff like "You know what'd be fun? Killing monsters," or the ever so subtle, "I want to go on a quest," (Note my sarcasm). I knew she'd want to hear about this right away. I decided to run over to the volleyball courts. I figured she'd be there, seeing she always is. I approached the courts where sure enough Kylie was playing a game. I laughed to myself.

"HEY KYLIE!" I yelled.

"Hold on Row! I'm about to win!"

I laughed rolling my eyes, "No c'mon! It's urgent!"

"Give me a minute!"

"C'mon! I know you'll be happy when I tell you this!"

"UGH! Fine. TIME OUT!"

Kylie ran over to me with an annoyed look on her face.

"Okay you made me stop my game so make it quick," she said.

"Well you know how there was just a prophecy?" I asked

"Yeah yeah, why do I care?"

"Well apparently I may be part of it so I'm going."

Kylie crossed her arms, "Oh really?"

"Mhmm. As well as Percy and Leo."

Kylie's expression fell, "Oh, why are you telling me this?"

"Well the prophecy calls for four people. That fourth person is you."

"OH MY GODS SERIOUSLY?!"

I smiled nodding.

"Oh my gods Row! You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this! Oh. My. GODS!"

I laughed, "So you're in?"

Kylie glared at me, "No I'm just freaking out for nothing."

"Oh...okay."

"DUDE!"

I laughed, "I'm just joking!"

"Gah! I am so in!"

"Great. We are exempt from any activities until we leave tomorrow."

"We're leaving tomorrow?"

"Yes after lunch."

"Oh my gods! I need to get ready! I have to pack and prepare myself. But first-"

"Let me take a selfie!"

"NO! No, I need to finish my game! Gods Rowan."

I laughed, " Well I leave you to your game then. See you later."

Kylie was already back the court, "BYE! Twenty serving fourteen!"

I shook my head and started over to the Hermes cabin. That is, until I felt a pair of arms snake around my waist making me jump. I turned my head to see Leo grinning behind me.

"Hey," Leo said.

"Hi," I smiled turning around to face him.

"Surprised you didn't punch me this time," he smirked.

"Well, I guess I had an instinct it was you. Plus I don't think you really wanted to be punched again. Unless you want me too."

"Ha ha very funny. You ready for this quest tomorrow?"

"Yeah," I sighed, "I mean I guess so."

Leo put his hands on my shoulders, "You'll be fine. I've been on a couple myself."
