30 | one day at a time
"Tell me that no matter what happens," he whispers, "I won't lose you."
I sit there in shock. No one else says a word either, like they're waiting for me to react. The only thing I can seem to do is glance black at Axel for him to explain, because it doesn't look like Will or Jamie are interested in doing so.
"Fuck," Axel whispers, unable to meet my gaze. It's out, so he doesn't mind glancing at his friends and murmuring a quiet, "I'm sorry."
Will shakes his head when I glance back at him. "I should have said something, I just —"
"It's okay, Will," I tell him, "you don't have to tell me anything."
He glances at Jamie and behind me at Axel, and then at me. "I want to," he states, "I just didn't because I didn't know what to say." He holds his hand out to motion to Axel and admits, "I wouldn't have told him anything either — I mean I never did — he walked in on us."
Jamie cringes, and Axel hurries to explain, "to be clear, I found you making out in front of Jamie's apartment door." He makes a face and grumbles, "I don't need to know what else you're doing together."
I'm uncomfortable too. I remember when Sam and Will started dating and since we were friends, she'd start telling me about things they were doing, and no one wants to hear about their brother's sex life.
This must've been a shock for Axel too. What are the chances of your two best friends hooking up when they didn't even know each other until a couple days ago.
I shouldn't ask Will any questions, I know, especially not in front of Jamie and Axel, but no one else is saying anything so I shrug. "So what?" I murmur, leaning back against Axel's chest as his arms slide around my waist. "Are you bi?"
Will shrugs. "Maybe?"
Jamie gives him a look.
Will grins. "I guess."
"You're only realizing that now?" Axel asks him.
Will shrugs again.
Axel grunts and asks, "wait, if you're bi, how come you've never had a thing for me?"
We all burst out laughing, which lightens the mood a whole lot.
"You're not really my type," Will teases.
Axel frowns. "So you've never liked me, not even a little?"
Will shakes his head, and Jamie can't stop from smiling. "Nope."
"You're weird," Axel tells him.
Will chuckles. "Not really. You're just not that attractive."
