Gerard has never been on a date before or even been in a relationship. The whole 'dating' thing was new to him and he desperately wanted to get it right. So instead of just going out with Frank in his normal clothes, he ended up pacing the basement with Mikey watching intently. "I don't," Gerard whined. "Know what to wear."
"You wear the same five things every day. I don't see why you're making such a big deal out of it." Throwing his hands up in the air, Gerard shouted his next words a little too loudly to show just how stressed he was. "I'm going on a date, Mikey! I can't just show up wearing the same thing I've worn almost every day of my life!" Mikey only shrugged his shoulders. "You bought that button down from that man. Get those skinny jeans on-" "I am not wearing those tight fitted ugly-wait. With that blue botton down? This may actually work!"
Gerard rushed to the collecting pile of clothes, throwing them aside to reveal the skinny jeans he had tossed away the day he tried them on. Gerard didn't really like tight things but after thinking of it...The jeans may show off his body in a way he hadn't done before. And he was trying to impress Frank, after all.
"Shouldn't you at least wash your hair? Or your entire self? No offense, but if I were Frank, I'd sit ten feet away from you while you're smelling like that. You need some deodorant or something." Rolling his eyes, Gerard sighed in his annoyance. "I don't have enough time-" "I already boiled water and filled the bath while you were freaking out over what to wear. Do what you have to do." Mikey said with a wave of his hand.
Thanking his younger brother, Gerard grabbed his clothes and rushed to the bathroom; whipping the door open while stripping his clothing off. The water was cold from being out so long, but Gerard didn't mind as being clean was his top priority-besides his date with Frank.
Gerard scrubbed the dirt from his skin and washed his hair as quickly as he could before jumping out of the tub to quickly dry off and get redressed.
It took three attempts to button his shirt properly but he thankfully managed to do it in record time. Gerard tended to ignore the mirror whenever he passed, but today he wanted to look his best so he actually tried to comb his hair with his fingers as to make him look less like he just got out of bed and more like he was actually prepared for a date. Which he wasn't-but at least he was trying.
Giving up the moment he realized his hair wasn't going to work with him, Gerard ran his fingers through it one more time before running back out of the bathroom and into the basement where he made sure he had everything he needed. Which, he only had himself and the clothes he was wearing, but Gerard was somewhat freaking out so he continued to run around until he felt satisfied with what he had.
"Gee, you need to calm down." "I am calm!" Gerard yelled frantically. Obviously not calm. He told himself. "Yeah...Take a chill pill. I mean, it's just Frank." "That's the problem! It's Frank! What if I'm not good enough for him!?" "Psh. If anything, it's him who's not good enough for you." His brother mumbled under his breath.
"Mikey!" Gerard whined. "You'll be alright Gee." Mikey assured him. "But what if I'm not?" Sighing, his sibling closed the book he had been reading and rubbed his eyes, pushing up his glasses to do so.
"Honestly Gerard. Sometimes I wonder. Listen, Frank's still going to like you whether you embaress yourself or not. I don't think he'll really care if you get nervous and ramble on like you normally do. He obviously doesn't hate you because I haven't seen a kiss that passionate since-" "Okay, okay." Gerard interrupted.
"I get it. Frank loves me. Okay...But what if he doesn't?" "Gerard!" "I'm sorry! I can't just, stop thinking about-" "Relax. I mean it Gee. You're giving me anxiety from just watching you. Also, why don't you unbotton that a little? Have you even tried to fix your hair-Jesus Gee, I swear." Mikey walked over to a nervous looking Gerard, fixing his shirt and then working on Gerard's hair with his hands.
