Gerard was a lost soul, slowly crumbling under the pressure on his shoulders. Frank had realized there was nothing he or anyone else could do about it either.

He was doing his best, but he knew his best wasn't good enough. Gerard was in mourning of the brother he had lost and Frank had never seen anything like it. He had never saw a man so broken in his entire life and all he wanted to do was help put him back together.

Though he wasn't able to do so. He couldn't. Not when Gerard was like this. Not when he was pushing everyone away and hiding in his own walls he had built to keep all the bad out. Not when Gerard was continuously sobbing and screaming Mikey's name. It wasn't right, Frank thought. For someone such as Mikey to have been killed.

Frank knew how unfair this world was and what it meant for others to be close. He was made known long ago of the death that prawled the streets and what happened whenever close relationships were made. It was the reason why he had chosen to stay to himself and close off his feelings and leave friendships to the weak. Now he was made aware yet again on how long things last. Only this time, he wasn't going to close himself off. He wasn't going to leave.

This was Gerard. And Frank would do everything in his power to keep Gerard and help him through whatever he was feeling. It didn't matter whether the man wanted him there or not; Frank would be there in a heartbeat if it meant Gerard would be alright.

But Frank's efforts were being put to waste as the days slipped by. In fact, all of their efforts were put to waste. Gerard was refusing everything from foods to liquids. It took every ounce of pleading to get the man to drink a drop of water or take a singular bite of food. His weight was dropping dramatically and Frank begged him to come out of wherever he was finding sanctuary.

Gerard's refusal to every day activities were taken to note too as he didn't want to do anything. Leaving the bed was only an option if he needed to use the restroom or occasionally, take a shower and cry behind the closed door. Frank normally begged the man after to tell him what was on his mind.

Gerard would only look at him with reddened skin around his eyes from crying and shake his head. Once he had even whispered that Frank wouldn't understand.

Every night Frank would crawl under the sheets beside him and Gerard would slither into Frank's arms. Later on his tears would dry up and he'd just lay there for Frank to sing him whatever soothing song he could think of, and fall asleep in the arms of Frank. Frank however; would stare at the frail man and cry for hours when he assumed he wouldn't be heard.

It was on one of those nights when he cried a little too loud when Gerard stirred in his arms. "Frankie?" He whispered, his voice coming out soft from him just waking up. Frank was somewhat embarrassed to be caught but didn't say anything as he wiped his eyes and held back whatever tears he had left.

Frank lowered his head so his hair would fall over his eyes and cover the noticeable tears. He could tell though, that Gerard had already seen them. "I'm sorry, Frankie." He said in a low voice. Frank flinched slightly at his words, raising his tearful gaze to Gerard's. "Sorry?" He repeated questionably. "For what? Gee, there's nothing for you to be sorry for."

"Yes there is. I-I've been a huge ass towards you and all I've done is stand in the way while you three-" "Gerard." Frank interrupted with a small chuckle. "You're not in the way. Nothing-all of this-it's okay. We know your still heartbroken after what happened and none of us blame you for what you're doing. You lost your brother Gee. It's alright if you hide in your room all day or act like an asshole."

"I shouldn't be though." Gerard whimpered. "I should be nice to-to you because I love you an-and all I've managed to do was push-push you away when I know you're trying to help me." He choked out. "I'm sorry Frankie."
