It hurt Gerard to see many people injured by the Black Mask's wrongdoings, but also made him more determined in stopping them. And although Gerard hated resorting to violence and although he still lived with the guilt by the blood he had spilled on his own two hands; Gerard would do anything to save the lives of the people in Chemical City.
This, he thought as he glanced towards Frank, must be how he feels. Gerard had known for a long time about Frank's ideals but never shared them as he hadn't felt the need for rebellion. That was, until he witnessed Patrick's death. Until he almost lost his brother. Until he almost lost Frank. Now, Gerard knew, he'd stop at nothing to take Brendon down.
"Gee?" Frank asked, causing Gerard to flinch slightly at the man's sudden intrusion. Shaking his head at his own stupidity, Gerard turned to face Frank once more. "Yeah, Frankie?" Frank had a concerned expression on his face and Gerard knew full well it was because of him. Frank often grew worried whenever he noticed Gerard was deep in thought; though Gerard had no clue why.
"Nothing Gee. You were just trapped in your thoughts again." Gerard, already noting that down, nodded his head. "Sorry." He apologized. "No. There's nothing wrong with thinking I'm just, you can tell me if something's wrong, you know?" He offered.
"I'm fine." Gerard assured him. Frank appeared as if he disagreed, but didn't say anything about it. Instead choosing to lay against Gerard as he became lost in his thoughts once again.
Most of it was, of course, things which didn't matter as Gerard's thoughts tended to go astray often. Frank, as quiet as he was, was most likely lost in thoughts as well. It was easy for Gerard to tell when Frank was deep in thought as he'd stare straight ahead and a crease would form between his eyebrows.
"What're you thinking about, Frankie?" Gerard questioned as he elbowed Frank lightly. "I could ask you the same." He replied simply. "A lot of things, Frankie." "Yeah. That sums it up." He paused before adding; "When do you think Ray and them will be back?"
"Soon. Ryan said that there's one more group on their way." Mikey said, entering the room without as much as a knock. He plopped down on the bed, pushing Frank aside, much to Gerard's amusement. Frank sent Mikey a dirty look in which Gerard's brother replied with a sarcastic smirk.
"So, got your own room now, huh?" Mikey asked as he stared around the small room which Gerard and Frank shared. "Yeah. It's pretty neat. More quiet." Frank spat harshly as he sent Mikey a jealous glare. It was funny to Gerard, to see Mikey and Frank fight over him.
Turning away from the two; Gerard studied the map that had been tacked to the wall not long ago by Ryan. The entire thing was labeled and highlighted, notes written on almost every free space. That map, Gerard knew, would possibly save his life.
