February 23, 2008

Tonight was the night that Tom, Gi, Dougie and I were going on a double date and I was very excited. Dougie and I don't go on that many formal dates, and I was also hoping it would calm some of the nerves I felt about our relationship. I'm sure that Dougie was just overwhelmed. That's why he hadn't show up for our last date.

Anyways, Gi and I had even gone to pick out new dresses for the date tonight. I don't buy new clothes that often (only when I have to for things, like BRIT Awards and the Royal Variety. You know, normal stuff), so this felt really special. Gi had even helped me do my hair in some fancy braid thing.

It was so nice that it was summer in Australia because Gi and I were able to wear dresses. if we were in the UK right now, we would have to be all bundled up and it would probably be rainy.

When we were all ready, we met Tom downstairs. Dougie had said he was meeting us at the restaurant, since him and Harry had been late at the studio.

Gi went down and gave Tom a kiss. They lock arms and then they both turned to face me.

"Well you clean up nice." Tom said, looking at me.

"You look wonderful, Lilly." Gi smiles sweetly.

"Coming from the beautiful couple." I smile. "Thank you both."

"Come on then." Tom says, holding his other arm out to me. I laugh and take it. He looks between me and Gi. "Well all the lads on the streets will be quite jealous of me tonight, won't they?"

When we get to the restaraunt, it's just turned seven, the time of our reservation.

"Name?" The hostess asks.

"Fletcher." Tom says, and the hostess brings us to our seats. There's already fancy wine in a bucket of ice on the table. we take our seats and a male waiter starts to pour wine into all of our glasses, except the empty one saved for when Dougie arrives.

"I feel like I'm out to dinner with my parents." I laugh, taking a sip of the wine. It's kind of gross, but it makes me feel fancy, so I drink it anyway.

"We accept." Tom says.

"Accept what?" I ask.

"Oh...was that not a plea for adoption?" He asks, jokingly. The waiter comes back bringing us four menus, and I take Dougie's and put it at his place.

It's been two hours. We've drank multiple bottles of wine, had appetizers, entrees and dessert and Dougie never showed up. It was just like last time.

In the first thirty minutes, I thought it was just him and Harry losing track of time at the studio.

After an hour, I was worried maybe something was wrong. I even called Dougie, but he never replied.

After an hour and a half I knew what was happening.

And here I am, a whole two hours after Dougie was supposed to have shown up, and I don't know where he is.

"Lilly...are you okay?" Gi says, after a long silence.

"Obviously she's not okay, Gi." Tom whispers. "Alright. I have to say something."

"What?" I ask.

"Tom no! I told you no!" Gi says. "You promised."

"What are you guys-"

"Look at her Gi!" Tom says.

"Hello?" I ask. "Anyone want to fill me in?" Tom and Gi sigh.

"Gi told me...about what you told her...about how Dougie's been acting." Tom says. I straighten up and look at Gi, then back at Tom. "How long has he been doing this?"
