*Jade's Pov*
I walk out into the airport, stress was crawling under my skin. The news of Scarlet being in jail spread like wildfire. The fact that she was involved with me just gave another reason for the public to go crazy about the whole thing.
Honestly, Trisha is on my nerves right now. I told her that I would handle it myself, but she just ignored me. She thought she was helping me, but in reality, she was making things worse for me and Scarlet...mostly Scarlet.
I stride onto the smooth floor of the airport, my jaw clenched as I saw a flood of news reporters making their way to me. I put on my best smile, trying to look pleased to see them. Reporters shoved one another and climbed their way to me. Soon enough, I was surrounded by reporters with their microphones shoved in my face.
"Sir, did you hear about Scarlet? " One of the reporters asked, pressing his microphone into my face.
"Yes, I did. " I said.
"Are you glad that the person who nearly killed you is finally behind bars? " A women reporter asked.
I furrowed my brows, trying to look confused, though I already knew the public was spreading lies. "Who nearly killed me? Scarlet? " I asked.
the other reporters vigorously nodded at my question.
"All I'm going to say is...Scarlet is 100% innocent. Don't believe the lies the public spills on you. " I gave a final smile before making my way outside, ignoring the sea of desperate reporters behind me.

I slipped inside of Logan's red Mercedes Benz, and immediately pulled put my phone. My fingers quickly tapped Trisha's number before dialing her.
"Hello? " She said as she picked up.
"Trisha. " I said into the phone, my tone low.
"Oh, Jade. What is it? " She asked quickly.
"Didn't I tell you to leave Scarlet up to me? "
She let out a sigh. "Look Jade, something is up with that girl, and you know very well that she's not normal. "
"I'm going to jail right now to talk to her. " I told her.
"Jade, we both know that Scarlet is not an average girl. The police officers are going crazy looking for her, and the public is going bonkers with the news. I took her to jail so she could testify and prove that she isn't guilty. You're only 17 Jade, you don't need this kind of problem in your life now. " Trisha said, trying to defend her decision.
"Trisha, I am a whole 5 months older than you. I have gone through a lot and I mean a lot of things when I was only 16. What makes you think that I can't handle something smaller two years later?" I questioned. "Another thing, Scarlet doesn't have anything to testify. That's why I've been trying to protect her. "
"Exactly! If she doesn't have anything to testify for that proved that she is guilty. She doesn't have any type of logical explanation for her actions, which means that she is guilty. She doesn't have anything to say, so she is guilty, end of the story. " Trisha raised her voice.
I let out a loose laugh.
"So just because you don't have anything to explain, you're guilty? So when I came home when I was 14 and found my family murdered, and had no explanation for what had happed...I was guilty? " Her voice was silent on the other line. "Trisha, this is what caused me to almost kill myself before...a flawed reasoning that had thousands of holes and little evidence to prove the point. I was seen as a murderer when I was 14 because people thought I was, due to the evidence that people thought supported the point of the surface. But they never bothered to go underneath the surface to find the truth, and just think of it as common sense. " I pause for a while to let her soak in the information. "Scarlet threw me the phone right before she got caught, in effort to protect me. She didn't want the public to go after my back and give me a hard time. To me, it's not the identity of the person that matters, but the person's motivation under their actions. "
