Chapter 11

"Wow! This shop is amazing." I exclaim.

Annie says, "So you first walk into a store and already think it's fantastic? Weird." I stare at her.

"Shut up, Annie!" I nudge her and laugh.

She yells, "I was kidding!" We both laugh until we found a beautiful wedding dress I could wear. As soon as it caught my attention, I knew it was the perfect dress, and I knew Peeta would love it!

"Annie, look!" I scream, "This is the one, the perfect dress! Peeta's gonna love it, as much as I do. It even matches my Mother's wedding shoes she wore, since she wanted me to wear them instead of wasting more money and time! But it's perfect." I sigh happily.

"Then I'm happy for you. You found the right dress, matching the pretty shoes your mom has, but at what price?" Annie explains.

"Uum, 545 dollars..." the cheerful face turns into a gloomy face.

Annie exclaims, "But we only have 500 dollars left!!" Tears escaped my eyes, I couldn't hold them in at this moment. I gripped Annie's hand and walked away. "I'm very sorry, Katniss."

"It's okay. This was meant to happen, let's face it!" I mumble.

"We could always go to the boys and Effie for spare money, maybe they have just enough!" suggests Annie.

"Thanks, but I don't think that'll help." I mention sadly. It stings. When it strikes, it strikes really hard. It is so painful and upsetting to hear that you are unable to find the wedding dress you wanted.

"C'mon Katniss!" Annie drags me, "Let's go anyway,"

"OK." is all I say. I am not bothered to rub it in myself that I cannot afford a wedding dress which could've even been in my dreams for years! I still can't believe it. Even the way I'm acting. I'm it not usually bothered about this but I love Peeta and it means a lot to the both of us. If one important thing isn't right, then forget it! Stuff it. The wedding day was supposed to be about Peeta and I but if the wedding dress isn't right, it's for.

We run, and run, and run until we bump into someone. This time, we manage to bump into Effie.

"Girls, girls! Be careful. If you're in a hurry, don't rush too much!" she snaps, as if we're kids. I'm 21 for crying out loud, coincidentally, I am crying!!

"Sorry, we just wanted to talk to Peeta and Haymitch." I explained.

"About what?" she asks.

Annie answers, "Do any of you have forty five dollars?? We really need it for Katniss' wedding dress. It's perfect for her and we just need extra cash to pay. Do you?"

"I'm afraid not. I only wish I did..." answers Effie, in a disappointed way.

Then comes Haymitch and Peeta.

"Do. You. Have. Forty. Five. Dollars?!" I ask impatiently.

Haymitch says, "No sweetheart, why?"

"For her wedding dress." Annie explains. Peeta gazes into my eyes and I blush.

"Oh, well we don't have it. Sorry." says Haymitch.

I burst into tears, again! Annie sooths and comforts me whilst Effie and Haymitch pat my back. Peeta is saddened by this news as well. But what am I going to do?
