Ferris' POV

It was the next day and things were getting more awkward. I tried to keep my distance but Zaelyn always drew near, and he was acting weird. Really weird. I caught him trying to steal some of clothes claiming he was doing 'laundry' but now I can't find them. He made comments on my scent and now that I think about it it's kind of creepy.

We were currently at a treatment spa, and I was taking pills to keep my wings in check so I had to flash them for the nurse that was treating me. This wasn't part of the spa package but father insisted I check up on them so he arranged for an appointment. We were in a separate room so that no one else saw them for some stupid tradition. I noticed in the reflection of the tinted window how they sparkled and buzzed with life as the nurse carefully examined as to not damage them. I hated this, being treated as if I'd break.

"Okay, we're all done!" She chirped and began to pack up her things, bowed then left. I sighed in relief before slipping on the silk white robe and entered the main spa room. I spotted Zaelyn and Fraener who were talking but stopped to stare. I felt heated under their gaze so I quickly stepped down the stairs, taking off the robe and leaving it on the marble floor. The water was soothing against my skin but the fact that the two were still looking at me made me feel uncomfortable.

It didn't help that other parts of my body were also turning pink making me look like a fool. We were supposed to discuss politics and war but in this state I'll end up passing out. I turned my back towards them which turned out to be a bad idea as I instantly felt their presence. I turned around to be greeted with their broad chests and Zaelyn's smug face.

"It's much more warmer at that end." Zaelyn spoke up, stretching out his hand which I reluctantly took. Fraener rolled his eyes but followed anyway. I stubbed my toe against a submerged ledge used for sitting causing me to cuss silently, thought that meant we found the place.

We sat down, Zaelyn bringing me close making me feel uncomfortable. "Z-Zaelyn! This isn't professional!" I squealed making him laugh. "Professional? We're not kings yet!" He brushed off, pulling me closer. Why is he acting like this? "Zae.." Fraener growled and he instantly let go, allowing me to scoot over in between the two men.

I remained quiet while they made small talk. All this awkwardness was somehow giving me a stomach-ache, as I doubt that Fraener's cooking was doing this. I didn't make sense. Zaelyn was no longer drained evident by all the sounds they were making which made all the guards share glances but they didn't question anything. It wasn't their job to.

So why was he acting like this? He's always been strange but this was different and confusing. The more I thought about it the more my supply of oxygen depleted until I felt all claustrophobic and sick. "I-I'm sorry I can't do this." I muttered before getting up and walking away from the two. If my father were to find out that I wasn't wearing anything he instructed me to wear let alone completing any of the activities our parents put so much effort into he'd probably kill me.

I felt real pathetic climbing out the water and slipping the robe back on and cowering away in one of the vacant rooms. If I can't handle these two than how am I supposed to handle an entire kingdom? It doesn't feel right. This past year has been hectic. I've attended meetings under my father's name, settled disputes over land and even arranged executions so why can't I handle these two? I even started to cry. Why am I so pathetic?

"You're in no way pathetic." Fraener scowled, creaking open the door and swiftly shutting it behind him. He didn't even bother to put on some clothes. "How did you..?"

"Dragons can read minds when the time calls for it."

I nodded though I was shocked. How did I not know this? I tried my best to ignore his stark naked body choosing to look away. "Did Zaelyn make you feel uncomfortable? I have zero clue on why he's acting like that." He sighed, sitting down next to me. I nodded still looking down at the floor.

"How so?"

I took a deep breath before answering. "He's just been acting really off. Like, sort of creepy." I could basically feel his eyes burning into the back of my head. "Like?"

"Like standing inches away from my face, sniffing my hair, stealing my clothes! That stuff!" I squealed, feeling hot and flushed. What happened next blew everything out of proportion. He grabbed my chin and yanked me towards him so that our faces were inches apart. "Like this?" He growled in a way that turned me on in more way than imaginable.

Our eyes were fixated on eachother's lips until I cleared my throat and stood up. "I-I'm sorry, that was completely uncalled for." He stuttered. What the hell just happened? "I shouldn't have let you done that! What would Zaelyn think?! He's certainly going to kill me now!" I blurted out tears certainly welling up. This just made matters worse! If anything, this made my stomach-ache more intense. "I- I just need some air."

"Ferris, wait-"

I swung open the door, hitting a eavesdropping Zaelyn on my out, storming away. This gut feeling was getting worse and worse. Why did he do that? Why did I let him do that? Pathetic. That's exactly what I am.

If I'm to storm out when things get too intense how am I expected to be a leader? Let alone a king ruling an entire race! I ordered a set guards to take me home and another to grab everything I left behind. I'm resorting back to Plan: A.

Hide myself in my room and wait until all of this clears. That'll definitely work everything out. Right?
