Ferris
I paced around my room waiting for the go-ahead for dinner. I was supposed to be escorted by Zaelyn but due to complications I was now arriving to dinner with one of the guards. I was itching to know what Zaelyn and Fraener and to say and also stressing out what to wear. I had two options: What my Father picked out for me or what I'd rather wear, aka what I felt more comfortable in.
These tunics and vests were getting old, but after last time I didn't want to even risk being punished again. However, a knock at the door pulled me from my debate. I turned around to be greeted by one of the maids, holding a bundle color atop a white box. "M'lady requested you wore this," she sheepishly squeaked, extending her hands to give it to me. I plucked it from her hands and thanked her before she scurried out the door, closing it.
I held it out before me, examining it. It quite literally was a mess of colors, including vibrant turquoise and deep violet all with a gold stich hem. It reminded me of what the old gypsies would wear, hideous but somehow beautiful and unique at the same time.
The fabric was silky and felt light on my body as I slipped it on. It hung loosely down my waist as I examined myself in the mirror. The fabric was translucent meaning I could see my underwear perfectly through the clothing. We don't won't to flash anyone at dinner now do we, Ferris?
I strode over to the small white box. I slid the lid of and examined the insides. It was a pair of neatly folded denim shorts, with a small brown belt. I held the shorts up. They were ripped and looked worn down but also new. They also happened to be very small. Tugging them on, I noticed that they were indeed tight and hugged my ass and showed off the curve. I bit my lip in slight embarrassment. Though I didn't like how they made me look, they were certainly better than the knee-height cream shorts I had. Besides, maybe the shirt covered it.
I went back for the buckle and as it snakes it's way out of the box a small folded note fell put. I picked it up and scanned it.
'Sorry if those pants are too tight, dear. Thought my idiot of a son might enjoy them.
-Libelle.'
I felt my cheeks heaten a little. I must have re-read it? From the first word to the tiny little heart at the end. I took a deep breath and looked at myself in the mirror. My face and ears were burning a deep crimson. I narrowed my eyebrows in frustration. I hated having fair skin. Whenever I blushed I went from a ghost, to a ripe tomato.
Tomato, red, rubies, Zaelyn's eyes.
I smiled to myself as I looped the belt to my jeans. To help past the time I was seeing how many things I could relate to the two men. So far, there hasn't been a second I wasn't thinking of them.
I glanced at myself in the mirror. I looked like a hippie. I clearly couldn't pull off the gypsy look.
I slipped on my shoes and headed out, a guard awaiting me. He looked me up and down to make sure I was wearing what she instructed, his eyes lingering on my shoes. "You won't be needing those," he spoke firmly. I rose a brow. "It isn't proper to turn up to and event without footwear." I replied curtly. I saw a flash of a frown before he quickly mustered up a plastic smile. "M'lady, herself, insists it."
I rolled my eyes before proceeding to tug of my shoes and place them back in my room. He nodded to himself before leading me through the unfamiliar palace. The tiles felt cold beneath me but I paid no attention to it. As we walked down a huge corridor with high ceilings and gigantic mirror walls I couldn't help but keep checking my outfit. The colorful shirt, well shawl, hung loosely off my shoulders but was tucked in around my waist. It didn't cover up the jeans like I was hoping and I wasn't wearing anything underneath, meaning I was somewhat exposed.
I didn't realize I stopped moving until the guard behind me bumped into me, almost knocking me over completely. He tsk'd, an odd reaction from a guard. I didn't take him up on it though. Maybe he had a long shift. We continue down a flight of stairs and into the courtyard. He lead me into a beautiful garden with exotic flowers and lush greenery until we reached a hedge maze. "Stick by me, don't get lost." He grunted, glaring at me over his shoulder. I nodded in response.
We twisted, turned, looped and curved through this ever-winding maze. The fine cut grass tickled my bare feet as the guard seemed to move with the bushes. It literally seemed that this maze was moving by itself. I still didn't understand why I didn't need showes until we arrived in the centre of the endless maze.
The heart of it all, was a gorgeous oasis looking forest, with a small pond situated in the middle. The leaves bristled, the flowers bloomed and the birds chirped as I realized that the feast was taking place in the knee-high water. An odd place, for sure.
A Zaelyn was the first to spot me, waving me down. He was sitting next to Fraener who was chatting to one of who I presumed to be one of his sisters while Geno and his group were playing in the water. I looked back to thank the guard but I had just caught him leaving through the way we came in, the green hedge morphing and covering up the entrance. Huh.
I looked back to find Zaelyn moving through the water, his jeans rolled up to his and bearing a bright smile. I was relieved to find that everyone was wearing similar outfits. "We're glad you made it! Rafael was getting a bit restless not being able to eat all this delicious food!" He joked, letting out a small laugh. I smiled, trying to ease my myself. "You look great," I sheepishly gave earning a cocky smile from the Incubus. He came closer and rested his arm on my shoulder. "Well you look ever better,"
Like before, I transformed into a tomato. He guided me safely through the waters, stopping every now and then to admire the small fish that'd play around with eachother. I was introduced to all of Fraener's thirteen sisters, and greeted the Queen we insisted I called her Libelle.
I was sat between Fraener and Zaelyn, my feet slightly submerged in the pond. I looked around to admire the decorations. Purple and orange streamers hung down from the trees matching all of our outfits. Candles were yet to be lit and the food was still hot.
"Hello, Fraener," I mumbled while fidgeting with the table cloth. I kept my eyes fixated on the plate infront of me, waiting for a response. It never came. He cleared his throat before shuffling out from his seat, his enormous size banging into the table, rattling the cutlery. I felt my throat dry up and my stomach twist in knots.
Maybe he didn't hear me? I wasn't that loud, right?
I heard Zaelyn sigh in annoyance. "Why don't you sit closer, hm?" He patted Fraener's vacant seat. "What about Fraener?" I questioned though I was already moving myself into the next seat. "We're not exactly on 'speaking terms'."
I nodded and let the statement slide. It wasn't any of my business. I reached for the tall glass of water and took a sip. "So, you said you'd explain everything," I breathed out, tapping the glass in anticipation. I've been waiting all evening for this. "We should eat first, yeah? Then I'll explain." He answered, giving me a daring wink before moving his gaze to the feast set out infront of us. I nodded absently.
Just a few more hours. I can wait till then.
