(Y/n)’s PoV
I raced towards Neji and stood in front of him, only to have him hug me from behind to begin an attempt to move me, causing both of us to get hit.
We coughed up blood and began to fall forwards. Naruto caught us and held us up. “Why are you willing to throw away your life for me?” Naruto asked him in shock. “Because… you told me that I’m a genius.” Neji said as he smiled again. Hinata watched, silently crying.
“Naruto, Hinata-sama is willing to die for you. That’s why...your life...is not only..one… Apparently… my life, too...was..one of...yours. As was…(Y/n)’s.” He said to Naruto.
“Naruto, Hinata, I care more… about you two… than my life. Stay… alive… and protect… each other. Neji, I tried… to protect you… but… it appears… that I… have failed. I’m sorry… that I… couldn’t protect you… or our child.” I said sadly with a smile.
With the little strength I had left, I reached back to hold my lover’s hand as we left this world. Naruto removed the wood from us and laid us next to each other, hands still tightly clasped. I turned to face Neji. “I… love you…” I said. “I... love you... too.” He responded as we closed our eyes.
Naruto’s PoV
I removed the bloodsoaked piece of wood from my friends’ bodies and laid (Y/n) down next to Neji. The two lovers were tightly holding hands. Before I knew it, they had exchanged their last ‘I love you’ and closed their lifeless eyes for good.
