My name flashed on the board alongside a name I hadn’t seen in a while.

I stared at the name of my old friend on the board with mine. I clenched my fists tightly and scowled at my feet with tears in my eyes. “Tsubaki-chan… It’s been so long…” I thought sadly as I fondly remembered the loud purple haired girl.
*Flashback 8 years*
3rd Person PoV
(Y/n) walked quietly over to the swing set behind the Hidden Rain Village’s Ninja Academy and sat down with tears in her eyes. She sobbed quietly and attempted to wipe her tears away.
“Why are you crying?” a voice asked from behind her. “Wh-who are you?” (Y/n) asked the voice. A short girl with purple hair and green eyes walked around and stood in front of her.
“My name is Tsubaki Anohara. What’s yours?” The girl asked cheerfully. “(Y-Y/n) (L/n).” The (h/c) haired girl said. “Let’s be friends.” Tsubaki said with a close eyed smile.
*End of Flashback*
I snapped back to the present and looked the girl in front of me. She had long purple hair pulled back in a braid and green eyes. She wore a mesh shirt under a blood red crop top. She wore a short gray skirt and black pants with black sandals. She had bandages wrapped around her arms and her forehead protector was on her forehead, adorned by her bangs.
“Yo, (Y/n). Long time no see huh?” She said with a close eyed smile. I smiled shyly and nodded. “Y-Yeah.” I whispered in reply to her. Hayate stepped closer to the middle facing the wall behind Tsubaki and me. I turned and faced Tsubaki and gave her a small smile. “Begin!” He jumped away a few feet as Tsubaki and I stared at each other, waiting for the other to attack first. I smirked and jumped up. I quickly wove the hand seals for the fireball jutsu and blew a large fireball towards her.
She dodged and I threw several shuriken before the smoke cleared. Tsubaki skillfully dodged each one and threw several shuriken. I carefully dodged and smirked. “Just as I planned.” I thought as I pulled the strings that were held tightly in my fingers.
I watched as the shuriken flew forward, trapping the purple haired girl from behind. Her eyes widened in shock as I wove more hand seals. “Lightning Style: Chidori!” I yelled as I sent the electrical current through the wires.
