IT HAD BEEN A YEAR since the group moved on from the events in New York and planted themselves in France with separate intentions. Paris was absolutely wonderful with a plethora of tourist spots, bakeries, and lovely people. Mind the sinister robbers at night, they absolutely loved where they lived and were even more ecstatic to call it home.
Eden, Y/n, and Charlie, took up the opportunity to take down some of the crooks surrounding the area they had inhabited. They still did schooling, relying on the school that Tony bought before they left. Faye diligently became the top of her class within a matter of months, and Ebony stayed home working on her recent interest in anything technical.
Ever since moving there, they'd added the memories into something of its own story, enjoying every moment of it. Over the summer, they made sure to make Faye's birthday the best one, making sure it was filled with sweets, smiles, and gifts. Charlie's birthday rolled around in September, piled on with pranks, tricks, and a big cake.
Ebony received a new laptop for her birthday, a few books about coding, and an incredibly expensive pastry that she'd been dying to try! Eden was blessed with multitudes of sweet romantic novels (his absolute guilty pleasure), vanilla cupcakes, and a stash of Polaroid pictures for him to hang up in the room he shared with Faye.
Granted, with a few kisses on the cheek from Y/n since they'd grown so close over time. Hell, she'd consider everybody her family now. Y/n's birthday, on the other hand, was made sure to be the best of them all. The year before, she'd spent it with none other than Peter Parker, being showered with kisses, cuddles, and food he brought for her.
The boys were absolutely determined to top the likes of that. Instead, they made her go on a little scavenger hunt with Faye, gaining the video camera filled with their silly footage of just messing around that Ebony had compiled together. She continued on to go to a lake that was undeniably stunning and walked around, getting her enjoyment out of petting dogs.
Lastly, she headed home to a grand dinner that they all devoured and destroyed together. Soon after, they only got a bit tipsy since Eden preferred them all not to get completely drunk in front of Faye. Concluding it with an insane hour of fooling around and dancing, her birthday was over once the clock struck midnight and a buzzed Chip tucked a more buzzed Y/n into bed.
Now, they were all back to packing and a whole year older. With their luggage ready and a positive personality, they were excited to go back home to spend Christmas with the entirety of the Avengers. "Excited?" Charlie glanced at Y/n with a small smile, bouncing up and down on his heels with a gleeful grin.
She rolled her eyes at him, zipping up her suitcase and moving it down onto the floor as the wheels made contact with the wood. Eyeing him slightly, Y/n snorted and walked down into the living room where everyone else was gathered. "You seem more excited than me, Chip." He tilted his head, raking back his brown locks.
"Not bad to be excited, right? I mean, it's Christmas! Plus, I've been dying to see them again. It's been a while, y'know?" Ebony watched from the corner of the room, laughing. Tapping her foot, she teased him with an eyebrow and a small smirk of her own. "You'll have to wait a bit longer then, won't you? We have a seven hour and thirty five minute flight back."
Faye groaned loudly, earning a ruffle of her hair from her older brother. The twelve year old pouted, leaning against her creamy pink suitcase. "Don't remind me. I just want to be at New York again!" Eden smiled, his black rimmed glasses tilting slightly. "We'll be there soon, don't worry about it. You'll probably fall asleep anyways."
She rolled her eyes at her brother with a huff, turning away with crossed arms. Eden merely chuckled at her behavior, moving his glasses that he was extra careful with ever since he'd been prescribed to them four months ago. "Teens these days, am I right?" Y/n scoffed, smacking his bicep in a playful manner as she took her coat and pulled it on herself.
"Shut up, you're still eighteen, you idiot."
Brown eyes trailing after her, he shoved his own covered feet into the boots while everyone copied their actions, officially getting ready. "Guess we should say goodbye to the house for a while." Ebony mused, buttoning up her black jacket as she tucked her shoulder length straight black hair behind her ears, under her maroon beanie.
"You remind me of Mr. Morrison when you do that," Y/n piped up, fixing the rims of her boot to make it more comfortable. "Y'know, him and how he always did that with his red hat." Ebony smiled, shrugging contentedly. Shoving one hand in her pocket and the other towards the handle of her suitcase, she stood. "Almost forgot about him."
They shared some more jokes before reluctantly heading outside and took a taxi towards the airport, not having to go through security. The group trudged up the metal staircase of the plane and chose their seats after some employees stored away their luggage underneath the plane. "Feels just like last year. God, this leather's heavenly." Chip relaxed, snuggling into it.
"Yeah, smells like money." Eden joked, throwing a pillow at Charlie who returned it with a playful glare. Faye popped her head up from the seat behind her sibling, chiming her own voice into the conversation. "Props to Mr. Stark for using his money for good, though. Right?" Everyone looked at each other and murmured in agreement as Faye tapped her brother's nose.
With a childish smile, she chirped. "So, you shouldn't be complaining, Eden." Sinking back into her seat, Charlie stifled some laughter while Y/n let out giggles, getting distracted from her phone as she stayed seated next to her best friend. "Did I just hear you get told off by your own sister?" Ebony emphasized, Faye allowing a small smirk to stretch across her lips.
Eden rolled his eyes, smacking his sister lightly with his book. His freckles slightly spread out across his face as he grinned, chuckling. "You need to start spending less time with Chip. That boy's giving you sass lessons and I don't like it."
