"HELLO, MOTHER. HELLO, FATHER." Y/n said blandly on the phone with her parents, slightly dreading to have to call them at the airport once they touched down. Now, they sat at the terminal waiting for Happy to pick them up as they distracted themselves with their phones or wandered around.

Being the only one near the benches, she had no choice, but to be a bit productive with the time and call up her parents to let them know that she made it safely. The phone was obviously on speaker, her mom and dad responding at once. "No, we just arrived." She cleared up, tapping her foot impatiently.

As giving as parents were, Y/n's and Charlie's were both more of the strict type. Their parents both had tongues filled with critiques, insults, and comparisons. They were rather sly and cunning with their words and although their intentions were good, the way they were carried out was absolutely toxic and disgusting.

Thus, both of them never really had much of a bond with their parents whilst growing up. Still, they seemed to care for big impacts such as this. Y/n had excused her entire 'moving away' scenario as a internship from the Tony Stark, inviting her and some friends to a full blown academy for them to study at for the rest of the time until they finished college there.

It wasn't an absolute lie, but it wouldn't pass as the truth either. "I'm fine, I'm okay. The plane ride was a bit bumpy, but overall, we're all okay. My studies are doing well, I'm not sick, and I'll be returning in about a week's time. They're all out shopping or getting some food. We should be at home in about an hour. Okay. I will. Yes, yes, I get it! Alright, bye."

Hanging up, her head lilted forward as a heavy sigh left her lips. A migraine throbbed in her brain, her head feeling like it was spun round and round like the cotton candy machines at one of the fairs. "Hey, are you okay?" She winced at the hand placed on her shoulder, looking up to meet brown eyes she recognized well.

"Yeah, I'm okay, Eden. My head just pains me a bit." He reassured her with a small smile. "Don't worry, we'll be at the tower in no time. Did you take a nap on the flight at all?" Shaking her head, the girl yawned softly and clutched her forehead, massaging her temple every now and then. "I took one for about fifty minutes?" Y/n questioned her own counting.

Eden smiled, sitting down on the bench and patting his lap. "C'mon, lay your head down. Faye's out with Ebony stocking up on more food for God knows what reason and Chip's lost himself in one of the manly aisles. Let's kill some time." Y/n giggled at the boy's kindness and laid on the bench, her head on his lap. "C'mon sleep," He ordered jokingly, only making her laugh more.

"Sleep, peasant." He demanded, forcing her to close her eyes, but all she could do was open them and lose it in more laughter all over again. Softly, Eden spoke again with an obvious playful tone lacing his voice. "Alright, seriously, sleep." Copying what he did to Faye while she grew up, he laced his fingers into the roots of her hair and gently ran his fingers through it.

She hummed at his touch, slowly closing her eyes and giving in. Within minutes, Y/n was asleep with soft snores escaping her lips. About an hour later, the group met up again. Faye and Ebony had bags filled with cafe treats and some whipped cream from the hot chocolate still painted across their lips. Charlie returned with some athletic equipment in a bag.

"I think Happy's over there, right?" Eden squinted his eyes, looking behind Chip to see a slightly chubby man with an irritated look on his face. His arms were crossed and he was staring blankly at the group of five. "I think," Charlie answered, Faye nodding her head in agreement as Eden scooped Y/n up in his arms and walked towards Happy, the others following behind him.

Happy watched them spark another conversation, soft bantering flowing between the four that were awake. Faye peeked her head through the window, a joyous smile on her lips. "Hey Happy! Do you remember me? Charlie says I've grown a lot in the past year and it'd be hard to recognize me!" She exclaimed sweetly, giggling.

Happy let out a sigh, silently rolling up the window in between them as the girl fell back in between Chip and Ebony. Pouting, the girl crossed her arms with a light huff. "How rude," Chip cracked a smile, wrapping an arm around the small girl. "We can't help it if Happy's just a bitter idiot," He mused, a grunt coming out of the driver as he took them to the tower.

Ebony rolled her eyes, a chuckle coming out of her. Fixing her beanie, the Asian-American girl closed her eyes with a somber sigh. "It feels so weird to know we're back at New York. Now, I'm going to hear annoying New York accents instead of the sweet, sweet French I got so used to." The female mumbled, the boys laughing softly.

The car came to a screeching halt, Ebony nearly knocking into Eden, Y/n still in his arms. Charlie hissed, his arm scraping against the window roughly. Eden pushed Y/n's head into his chest, that way she'd have a soft impact instead. Faye, squished between Chip and Ebony, barely moved as she stretched out her legs to keep herself from sliding.

Getting out of the car, Charlie scowled under his navy blue hoodie. "Jesus, I know he hates us, but he doesn't have to be that rude." Walking out of the car, he grabbed his and Y/n's luggage while the others took theirs. Faye had Eden's duffel bag hanging off of one of her shoulders as the other rolled her light pink suitcase.

In front of them, the tower as Tony walked towards them. His hands were clasped together, parallel to his chest. A smile spread across his face, a warm and welcoming one whilst Y/n fluttered her eyes open at the familiar sounding voice.

"Welcome back to New York, kiddos."
