Y/N WAS CONFUSED, staring at the girls with a curious look. Pepper wandered around the dress shop, picking up different things and showing it to Viva. Wren, on the other hand, had wandered off hours ago somewhere else in the mall, most likely the arcade. Faye was by Y/n's side, some bags hanging off of her wrists.
Faye frowned, hands on her hips as she watched the females scurry back and forth. Ultimately, they must've come up with something since the two shared a nod of some sort. There was something dark blue in Viva's hand as she went over to the cashier, one of Tony's credit cards probably in her hand as well.
Pepper strode over to the two, Y/n still being incredibly confused on why Pepper would drag them to such a fancy store in the first place. "Um, Peps? I still don't understand the point of this." The woman blinked wildly for a second, as if half-assing the response and coming up with one on the dot. "O-Oh! Tony didn't tell you? We're having a media party, and you guys need outfits."
As much as she'd like to, Y/n didn't believe her. Sure, the entire reasoning was pretty believable, but if Tony wanted them to buy something, he'd send them on their own. On top of that, he'd never make them buy matching outfits because they all have wildly different styles and tastes when it came to fashion.
Rather than opening her mouth to retort, Y/n just clicked her tongue with a small nod. "Okay," Faye quirked an eyebrow at the simple reaction, but didn't speak up. Instead, she headed over to where Viva was and annoyed her as the older girl paid for the rest of the items. Pepper grabbed Y/n's arm, practically dragging her as she yelped. "Pepper!"
Apologizing quickly, the adult let her go. "We're going jewelry shopping now." Y/n just furrowed her brows with another nod, calling on the others who promised to catch up soon. Once led to the store, it was filled with employees that wore expensive uniforms and were surrounded by dazzling accessories.
Y/n swore, knowing that looking like a piece of crusty garlic bread and involved with these types of things definitely didn't help her self esteem or confidence whatsoever. Snorting internally at her joke, a worker gave her a snooty look before walking away. Pepper talked a bit more, walking away shortly after with an employee leading the way.
Bored and tired, Y/n decided to wander around the shop. She knew that if she left, Pepper would most likely panic and try to call her, so there was no point in leaving. Stopping at some pretty necklaces, she smiled at the simple designs, but noticed another person looking at her oddly. Tilting her head up, her eyes narrowed. "What?"
"Nothing, just thought that you wouldn't shop here." It was obvious that the man didn't recognize her, a bitter tone in his voice and he seemed to be pretty reliant on stereotypes of rich people. Scrunching her nose, she looked at the man. "It's a jewelry shop, dude. Pretty much made for people who want jewelry, not just rich folks."
Being calm about the situation, the man tried to fan the flames, but ultimately blanched when he only frustrated Menace even more. Midway in spinning around to give another retort, Menace had taken over and growled loudly at the man, scaring him to the point where he nearly shit his pants.
Unfortunately, the sound was loud enough that Y/n was kicked out of the shop and Pepper was left to shop alone. After paying, the blonde female came out of the jewelry store to see her ranting to Viva and Faye about the snooty man. Wren walked over a bit later, a black coffee in their hand as they sipped from it casually.
"Can we leave now?" They piped, Y/n grumbling softly and crossing her arms as Menace's own anger bubbled up within her and sizzled at the surface. Everyone traveled into the car, slipping inside the vehicle that Happy drove. Some of them napped, chatted, or listened to some music while looking out the window.
Y/n was the first to leave the car, the entire group arriving at the Avengers tower to wind down and do more of a group hangout event. Returning to the living room, everyone sat down and relaxed for a while. A movie was pulled up on screen, but Y/n didn't pay much attention as she dug her hand into another bowl of popcorn.
Taking some out, she munched on it and was oblivious to the silent glances that the others would send each other along with the constant whispers. Y/n looked up, however, when there was sudden silence and everyone was quietly staring at her. Blinking, her brows scrunched together in concern. "What?"
Bruce, being the person who wanted to spoil it the most and struggled to hold it in, shook his head quickly which made her shrug and look down back to her phone. It also caused everyone to send him swift glares and a tumble of curses to leave their lips. Hearing a squeak, Y/n looked up to see a nicely dressed Peter.
"Are we actually going to a fancy party?" Y/n was not notified at this at all and Tony quirked a brow at Pepper, the girl silently shrugging and not even remembering the lie that she'd said previously. Peter stuttered, "I-It's been like twenty minutes. She still hasn't seen the screen?" Everyone shared a look and a sigh, shaking their heads.
Now interested, Y/n looked to the screen. On it, a screenshot of Google maps and at the very top, it read 'Peter's tracker'. She was confused at the lines that followed down streets for a second, blinking before reading it thoroughly. 'Will you marry me?' Y/n swore that her heart stopped, spinning around with the small click noise behind her.
He was panting and settled on one knee, a nervous smile on his face. "A-After the fire, I realized I didn't want to lose you. I-I was just scared that I would and didn't know what to do. Mr. Stark had to help me out again, and I came up with this decision. I-It's also why you haven't seen me all day; I had to swing for miles."
Looking underneath his sleeve, Y/n saw the ends of his suit. The ring was dazzling in the light and Y/n cursed, taking a step back only to bump into Thor's muscular chest. With another nervous grin and his face slightly scrunching up, Peter looked up at her with sweat lining his forehead. He gulped.
"S-So, will you marry me?"
